Role Description
The Director, Strategy & Client Growth will lead the development and execution of strategies to drive business growth and client success. Responsibilities include generating innovative strategies, managing relationships with clients, identifying growth opportunities, and overseeing projects from inception to completion. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, ensuring deadlines and objectives are met, and contributing to overall business development efforts. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Pacific, WA, with flexibility for some remote work. a senior leader who can deepen client relationships, lead high-impact strategic work, and expand value within our existing accounts. This role is ideal for someone equal parts strategist, commercial thinker, and trusted advisor.
This is not an outbound sales or new business hunting role. Growth comes from delivering exceptional value and expanding partnerships over time.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends, interpret data, and develop actionable insights.
- Experience in sales and business development, including creating and nurturing client relationships to drive revenue growth.
- Proven track record in project management and delivery of multi-disciplinary projects on time and within budget.
- Solid understanding of marketing principles and strategies to support brand and commercial growth.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking and a results-oriented mindset.
- Experience in CPG, brand strategy, or related industries is highly preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
What You’ll Do
Lead High-Value Strategy Across Our Practice Areas
- Serve as lead strategist across insights, commercial strategy, brand strategy, creative, and innovation.
- Translate complex business challenges into clear strategic frameworks and pathways.
- Drive engagement outcomes that create measurable commercial impact.
Be a Trusted Advisor to Senior Clients
- Own and deepen relationships at the C-suite and VP level.
- Bring clarity, challenge, and forward-thinking recommendations to client conversations.
- Build trust quickly and guide clients through critical business decisions.
Grow Existing Accounts Through Value Creation
- Identify opportunities to expand work based on emerging client needs.
- Lead annual planning, roadmapping, and multi-workstream engagements.
- Build scopes and proposals rooted in real value and outcomes.
Ensure Cross-Functional Excellence
- Collaborate closely with Insights, Creative, and Strategy leads to deliver best-in-class work.
- Maintain clarity around goals, scope, process, and success metrics.
- Elevate the strategic and client capabilities of team members.
What You Bring
Strategic & Commercial Acumen
- 12+ years in brand strategy, insights, commercial strategy, or consumer-facing P&L ownership.
- Proven track record delivering business results for consumer brands.
- Financial fluency and strong understanding of the levers that move revenue, margin, and velocity.
- Experience with quantitative/qualitative research, portfolio strategy, and strategic frameworks.
Brand & Creative Fluency
- Experience leading brand transformation and creative development.
- Ability to guide creative teams with clarity, respect, and a shared vision.
- Comfort sponsoring innovation, design, and brand expression projects.
Client Leadership
- Direct experience managing senior executive relationships.
- Ability to influence, challenge, and “sell up” with confidence and credibility.
- Demonstrated success growing accounts through strategic value.
Operational Strength
- Skilled in structuring complex engagements and managing scope and profitability.
- Strong judgment and decision-making even with imperfect information.
- Ability to contribute to thought leadership (written or video).
