About Us
We are Nurtur. We are an innovative startup focused on revolutionizing maternal mental health care through technology and data-driven solutions. Our mission is to empower and nurture mothers by providing AI-powered solutions. We seek a visionary and results-oriented Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our leadership team and drive the strategic direction and execution of our product roadmap. This is a Fractional role with the possibility of converting to full-time in the future.
Responsibilities
1. Product Vision and Execution
- Lead the AI vision: Drive the strategic direction of nurtur’s AI technologies, including generative AI with structured and LLM-driven chatbot development. Sensitivity to challenges in LLM-driven products such as hallucinations and data security and ability to tackle these.
- Define product direction: Partner with the CEO and product team to translate business goals into a clear product roadmap, that aligns with the company’s goals, drives growth, and ensures market fit and user adoption.
- Own the product lifecylce: Lead all stages of product development, from ideation and design to implementation and ongoing optimization.
- Manage feedback loops: Establish robust processes for gathering and incorporating user and stakeholder feedback to continuously improve nurtur’s offerings.
- Experience in HIPAA compliance and ability to work with PHI.
2. Technical Leadership and Execution
- Architect and build scalable AI infrastructure: Design and implement secure, scalable, and maintainable AI infrastructure to support nurtur’s growth.
- Wear multiple hats: Be prepared to handle non-core CTO tasks in nurtur’s early stages, such as coding, bug fixing, and basic infrastructure management, while delegating and automating when possible.
- Experiment with cutting-edge ML: Foster a culture of innovation, leading research and experimentation with advanced ML algorithms and tools to maximize efficacy and user experience.
- Own tech stack and architecture: Oversee the codebase and technical architecture of nurtur’s products, ensuring code quality, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
- Experiment with data science prototypes and application of appropriate ML algorithms and tools.
- Champion data science integration: Collaborate with data scientists to translate insights into actionable technical solutions that improve nurtur’s effectiveness and provide engagement and other metrics of product utilization and UX.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in digital rights management, generative AI, content identification and compliance, content security, and identity management.
- Prioritize: Focus on critical tasks that only you can do, like setting the technology vision, architecting the platform, and leading fundraising efforts for tech initiatives.
3. External Communication and Advocacy
- Become a voice of nurtur: Represent the company at industry events and conferences, showcasing nurtur’s innovative technology and impact on maternal mental health.
- Build strategic partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential investors, technology partners, and healthcare organizations.
- Communicate effectively: Clearly articulate the technology strategy and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences, including the executive team, board of directors, and investors.
4. Business acumen and Budget Management
- Align technology with business goals: Translate business objectives into actionable technical roadmaps and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Manage budgets effectively: Secure funding, plan expenditures, and monitor resource utilization to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Demonstrate business impact: Track and quantify the ROI of technology investments, showcasing the value of AI in driving nurtur’s success.
- Invest in automation and infrastructure: Implement tools and systems that can automate routine tasks and scale automatically as the company grows.
- Plan for future hiring: Have a clear roadmap for adding team members as the company’s growth necessitates, ensuring a smooth transition.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development, technical leadership, or product management roles, preferably within the healthcare and/or AI sectors.
- 5+ years of experience building and leading teams in the development and implementation of AI solutions.
- Proven track record of success in delivering innovative and impactful products using AI technologies like generative AI, LLMs, and ML algorithms.
- Deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in applying AI to the healthcare domain, specifically around maternal mental health.
- Experience in building and scaling secure and reliable AI infrastructure that complies with relevant data privacy regulations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of talented engineers and data scientists.
- Experience working with chatbots or conversational AI systems.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and deliver on strategic objectives.
- Passion for nurturing and empowering mothers through technology and innovation.
Preferred skills
- PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field or equivalent level of experience.
- Public speaking experience and industry reputation in the AI community.
