About the Work
We have a team of 4, all with business backgrounds, using Claude Code everyday to build our product. You may think this is crazy, we think its the future. We're looking for a Fractional CTO with an exceptional engineering background to steer this new kind of ship.
Specifically, you'll:
- Provide guidance, best practices, and potentially hands-on help defining our architecture
- Our product is mostly internal, automating a significant amount of manual operations work (e.g. submitting government proposals)
- Mentor and up-level our team of 4 "engineers"
- Help us figure out some of the harder problems we're trying to solve
- scraping websites at scale
- Automated PDF form generation
- Optimize how we use Claude Code
Tech stack:
- Nextjs
- Node
- Postgres
- Vercel
We're open to smaller engagements that involve mostly guidance and strategy (e.g. 5 hrs / week), as well as larger engagements that involve you hands-on coding (e.g. 20+ hrs / week).
About You
You MUST have:
- Managed engineering teams at other VC-backed tech startups, with titles like CTO, VP, Head of, etc.
- An exceptional engineering background as an IC engineer
- Significant Claude Code experience
- If you're not very comfortable with Claude Code, we won't be the right fit
- You're excited to help us build a new kind of engineering culture, and are not afraid of an AI-generated codebase
- Based in the USA only
