SEO Lead

About Us:

I run a small digital marketing agency and am hiring for part-time SEO leadership. This is not an execution-heavy role and not a junior position. I’m looking for someone who has owned SEO performance, made real prioritization tradeoffs, and is comfortable working in constrained environments.

This is a fractional role. Initial hours will be modest and variable while fit is established. There is potential to expand scope across additional clients over time, but the role is expected to remain part-time.

What the Role Actually Involves:

• Owning SEO strategy for a small set of existing clients
• Deciding what not to do as much as what to do
• Translating strategy into clear, prioritized tasks for others to execute
• Reviewing performance and adjusting direction
• Occasional client-facing conversations (typically brief, structured check-ins)

You will not be expected to personally write large volumes of content, build links all day, or do rote audits.

You’ll have meaningful autonomy over SEO direction within agreed constraints.

What I’m Looking For:

• Prior experience leading SEO, not just contributing to it
• Experience in smaller-company or agency environments where tradeoffs matter
• Comfort working with limited dev and content resources
• Clear, grounded thinking about what actually moves organic traffic
• Strong written communication and internal clarity

Bonus (not required):

• Experience with organic Reddit marketing
• Familiarity with GEO / LLM-driven discovery

What This is Not:

• Not a junior or “worker-bee” execution role
• Not a guaranteed full-time position
• Not a generic SEO checklist job

Process (Important):

I’m keeping this intentionally lightweight and selective.

1. A short written intake (about 5 minutes) replaces an initial interview
2. A video conversation if there’s a likely fit
3. A short, paid practical exercise to evaluate real-world thinking
