We have more than 700,000 users, with a 4.8 App Store rating, and one of the top 50 iOS apps in the Sports category.
About the Work
We want to better understand our users, their value, their likelihood of churning, and the impact different product features may have. We're looking for a Fractional Senior Data Scientist to own these efforts for us, shaping our product roadmap with a more informed strategy.
Specifically, you'll:
- Build predictive models for user LTV
- Build churn models to show where users churn, why they churn, and how to reduce it
- Analyze and model our bonusing system to determine which users to bonus, how much to give, and the causal impact on behavior and spend
- Design and analyze product experiments, using behavioral patterns that separate high- and low-value users to form and test hypotheses
- Support marketing and paid acquisition analysis as needed
- Work closely with the CPO to inform the product roadmap
Analytics stack:
- Mixpanel
- DataGol (similar to Looker)
- Postgres
- Appsflyer
About You
You MUST have:
- Significant data science experience at other consumer tech startups
- If all your experience is B2B, we won't be the right fit
- Direct experience working with product teams to inform product decisions and roadmaps
- LTV and churn models should be your bread and butter
- High comfort with Postgres, Mixpanel, and BI tools
- Recent hands-on experience. There is no DS team to manage. It's you doing all the work, end-to-end
- Can be based anywhere in the world, but must be available for morning standup in EST time zone
Some nice-to-haves:
- Gambling or gaming experience
- Experience modeling and analyzing promotional or incentive systems (e.g., user bonuses, discounts, credits)
