Role Description

We are seeking an experienced retail, wholesale, or sales leader to serve as an advisor—helping shape our product strategy, go-to-market approach, and industry connections. This is a flexible, part-time advisory role, requiring bi-weekly meetings and ongoing strategic discussions as needed.

Where you’ll provide expertise

  • Product Strategy – Provide insights on how retailers make purchasing decisions, refine our AI-driven recommendation engine, and help ensure the platform delivers real-world value.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy – Advise on positioning, retailer outreach, and customer engagement to effectively reach small and mid-sized retailers.
  • Retail & E-Commerce Insights – Help us understand pain points, pricing challenges, and purchasing behavior in the retail and wholesale space.
  • Industry Connections & Partnerships – Leverage your network to introduce Emporium to retailers, wholesalers, and industry decision-makers who would benefit from our platform.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of experience in retail, wholesale, or B2B commerce.
  • Strong network within the retail and small business ecosystem.
  • Experience building relationships and partnerships within the retail & wholesale ecosystem.
  • Experience in product sourcing, merchandising, or wholesale sales.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for helping small retailers thrive.
  • (Bonus) Experience advising early-stage startups or working in retail SaaS.

Compensation & Engagement

We offer a flexible and rewarding advisory structure, which could include:

  • Equity – Stock options with standard vesting.
  • Consulting Fees – Premium hourly rates based on expertise.
  • Hybrid Model – A mix of equity and advisory fees.
  • Success-Based Incentives – Additional compensation for introductions that lead to strategic retailer or brand partnerships (e.g., facilitating wholesale deals, securing key accounts, or expanding market reach).
