Position Overview
We seek a proactive and experienced Finance Lead/Director in either part or full time capacity with a strong background in SaaS to guide financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and competitive analysis initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our founders, leveraging insights to optimize financial performance and drive data-informed strategic decisions. You will also lead banking, accounting, and advisory functions, ensuring effective cash management, payroll, tax filing, and reporting to support Ren Energy’s growth.
Responsibilities
Banking and Money Movement
- Monitor and approve funds transfers; initiate transfers and issue checks as requested
- Process employee expense reimbursements with management approval
Accounting Services
- Perform monthly/quarterly reconciliation of bank and credit card statements
- Record payroll and taxes into accounting software; ensure timely payroll tax filings
- Classify financial transactions based on client-provided information
- Complete sales tax filings (monthly, quarterly, or annually) and personal property tax filings as directed
- Manage general ledger, oversee cash accounts, and perform bank reconciliations
- Process payables and generate invoices as requested
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Develop and maintain financial forecasts to provide revenue, expense, and KPI insights
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor budget variances, offering cost-control guidance
- Conduct competitive analysis to identify market trends and benchmarking opportunities
- Track and report on key SaaS metrics such as Churn Rate, Renewal Rate, Customer Lifetime Value (CLV), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), and Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)
Advisory Services
- Generate financial reports, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, and General Ledger Activity Reports
- Prepare for board meetings and executive presentations, assisting with forecasts, projections, and dashboards
- Lead state registration for business expansion as needed
Investor Reporting
- Prepare and present financial reports for monthly and quarterly reviews to senior leadership, investors, and key stakeholders
Additional Services
- Maintain a two-year cash flow model and ongoing projections; manage Ren Energy’s dashboards
- Support quarterly investor report preparation and attend additional meetings as needed (up to five hours per week)
- Ensure record retention compliance, maintaining records for five years
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
- 3+ years of FP&A experience, with B2B SaaS focus preferred
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
- Experience with financial systems (e.g., Excel, Carta, Gusto, ERP systems)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Proven collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
