Role Overview
Boston While Black is seeking a visionary Fractional CMO to lead our marketing efforts and drive growth in both membership and corporate partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity for a marketing leader to make a significant impact in a flexible capacity. As the Fractional CMO, you will be responsible for implementing our established branding and marketing strategy while also driving its ongoing evolution. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to build and manage a high-performing marketing team, optimize our digital presence, and deliver results-driven marketing initiatives that elevate our visibility and impact in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to drive Boston While Black's membership growth and secure impactful corporate and university partnerships. Collaborate with the team to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
- Execution of Brand and Content Strategy: Oversee the execution of the newly developed brand strategy. Ensure that the brand message is effectively communicated across website, email marketing, social media, and other marketing channels. Develop an engaging content marketing and sales strategy to attract, nurture, and convert target audience members.
- Team Leadership and Management: Source, hire, and manage internal marketing staff and external vendors. Supervise these team members to execute marketing campaigns and initiatives effectively, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Marketing Operations and Metrics: Manage the marketing budget, allocate resources, and measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns. Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions and optimize marketing performance, ensuring maximum ROI and impact.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as sales, product development, and customer service to ensure alignment across all areas of the business. Facilitate communication and collaboration to achieve common goals, driving synergy and efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to keep our marketing efforts innovative and competitive. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategies to drive growth, continuously raising the bar for excellence.
Job Status And Compensation:
This is a fractional, contracted position. Compensation for this role will be dependent on experience.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, with demonstrated success in membership-driven or partnership-oriented organizations.
- A self-starter, highly adaptable, and comfortable driving initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent talent acquisition, leadership, and mentoring skills, able to attract and motivate a team of independent marketing contractors.
- Expertise in marketing automation tools such as HubSpot for campaign management and lead nurturing.
- Deep understanding of digital marketing strategies and tactics, with hands-on experience in web presence management, email marketing, and social media.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
- Ability to review and provide feedback on design and written work to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and messaging.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Commitment to Boston While Black's mission and understanding of the target audience.
