About Us
We're a small-batch food manufacturer with a range of products including ketchups, BBQ sauces, pasta sauces, salad dressings, and more.
Our brand launched in 2003 in the Midwest, where we still source most of our ingredients.
Today about 40% of our revenue comes through distributors, and another 40% from wholesale direct. The final 20% is miscellaneous.
About the Work
Our brand does about $1.5MM revenue today, mostly wholesale, but we think there's huge potential for a DTC expansion.
We're looking for a DTC-focused Fractional CMO to establish and grow a DTC channel, and do so in a way that doesn't break the bank.
Specifically, you'll:
- Create a 6-month plan with clear benchmarks and ROI estimates
- Create the entire DTC strategy and execute all or most of it yourself, bringing in other help as needed
- Work with our web development team to manage the online store
- Oversee customer service for our DTC efforts
- Work most closely with the CEO
We're expecting the need to be about 10 hrs / week, and with a budget of $4K - $6K / month, though we're open to supplementing compensation with a % of DTC revenue too.
About You
You should meet all the following criteria:
- Significant experience leading Marketing for CPG brands, particularly at companies with $1 - $5MM in sales
- You've built successful DTC / eCommerce arms from scratch
