About Us
We are Blue Finn Media, an early post-merge digital marketing agency group. We primarily service eCommerce brands, but also other DTC brands like SaaS, apps, etc. Our core services are performance ad creative and paid advertising management (paid social and search). We are searching for a Fractional Chief Operating Officer as we are currently reworking all of our internal operating systems, so we see this as an opportunity for the right person to come in and rebuild everything from the ground up.
What We’re Looking For
- We see there is a lot to build, so we don’t see this as an advisory role but instead see it being hands-on building.
- We would see it being necessary to find a COO with experience building operational systems and teams for remote marketing agencies of a similar size to ourselves or larger.
- We also see it being valuable to us finding a COO with experience in agencies providing services such as creative, paid social or search advertising, in the eCommerce or DTC space, but understand this wouldn't be necessary.
- Experience with post-merge would also be a bonus.
What We Need Help With
Below you’ll find a list of areas we can see us needing help with over the next 12+ months. We’re hoping to find a Fractional COO who would prioritise these projects accordingly with what the business needs now versus in future, as well as look for and suggest blind spots operationally that we don’t currently see.
Building Project Management System
- We are planning on building entirely new project management systems, most likely from scratch (ClickUp, Asana, etc)
Building HR, Management & Hiring Systems
- Building hiring processes within the business
- Building employee onboarding systems
- Building employee training systems including organising building SOPs and trainings within the team
- Building employee management systems (accountability, performance reviews, etc)
- Building other HR processes and systems within the business
Building and Managing Agency Operations Teams
- Suggesting an optimal structure for an operations team.
- Hiring, building and managing this team when the Fractional COO sees this as making sense
Planning Optimal Team / Org Structure For Scale
- Planning an optimal team structure for scale
- This includes all agency divisions including leadership team, service delivery team, operations team, etc
Legal & Finance
- Finance: Improving our finance system for increased financial visibility in the business (eg hiring and overseeing external controller/bookkeeper team)
- Legal: Improving our current legal and contracts
- We don’t imagine this being hands-on with the Fractional COO building, but maybe looking at these areas and liaising with relevant experts to build a more optimal system
