With our unique staffing model, we are bringing the benefits of AI productivity to the 350,000 mid-market enterprises that would rather hire labor than integrate an API based technology solutions.  Our current customers concentrate in field services (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other trades).

Fresh off of our seed fundraise, we are coming out of stealth and looking for a brand strategist to help tell our story.

Role

We're looking for a fractional CMO (10-25 hours/month) to build StaffAI into the defining brand for AI in the trades. You'll design our narrative, shape how the market understands "AI employees," and lead content and PR efforts that drive awareness among customers, employees and investors.

Brand Strategy & Positioning

  • Define and refine StaffAI's brand identity, voice, and market positioning
  • Develop the "AI employees" category narrative—why it's different from software, why it matters
  • Craft messaging that resonates with field services owners (practical, ROI-driven, trust-building)
  • Position StaffAI against automation competitors and traditional software alternatives

Storytelling & Content Strategy

  • Translate customer wins into compelling case studies and proof points
  • Set content strategy: what stories we tell, where, and how often
  • Develop thought leadership positioning for the founder in AI/future-of-work conversations
  • Manage content creators and ensure quality, consistency, and cadence

PR & Market Awareness

  • Build and execute a PR strategy targeting trade publications, tech media, and business press
  • Secure earned media placements that reinforce our positioning
  • Identify speaking, podcast, and byline opportunities
  • Manage agency relationships or direct media outreach

Marketing Leadership

  • Direct and prioritize work across content, design, and PR resources
  • Establish brand guidelines and messaging frameworks
  • Advise on marketing budget allocation and channel priorities
  • Collaborate with sales on messaging alignment and enablement materials

Ideal Candidate

  • 10+ years in marketing with deep brand strategy and storytelling experience
  • Track record building brands for B2B SaaS, ideally serving SMBs or traditional industries
  • Experience translating technical products into simple, benefit-driven narratives
  • Comfortable marketing to non-technical buyers (business owners, operators)
  • Strong editorial judgment and ability to manage content teams
  • Bonus: experience in vertical SaaS, field services, or "unsexy" industries
  • Bonus: experience with multi-brand portfolios, holding companies, or PE/VC portfolio marketing
