Position Summary

Are you looking for a team at a rapidly growing company where your perspective is valued? Neural is looking for a high performing individual that can work with limited oversight. We seeking a seasoned financial executive to serve as our Fractional CFO. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in managing the financial operations of early-stage or high-growth companies and have specific experience with fund management, capital raising, and scaling businesses. This role is perfect for a strategic leader who thrives in dynamic environments and is looking for part-time or project-based work with the potential for increased involvement over time. There is a travel requirement of up to 15%.

Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning

• Develop and implement financial strategies to support company growth and scalability.
• Provide ongoing financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting to guide decision-making at the executive level.
• Create long-term financial models that include funding projections and risk management strategies.

Fundraising & Capital Management

• Lead efforts in capital raising, working closely with investors and financial institutions.
• Establish and maintain relationships with venture capital firms, private equity, and other funding sources.
• Manage the flow of funds and ensure optimal allocation of resources.

Accounting & Financial Controls

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial systems and reporting.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets.
• Oversee accounting functions, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for timely preparation of tax filings and audits.

Cash Flow & Risk Management

• Oversee cash flow management and ensure liquidity for operations.
• Analyze and manage financial risks, ensuring appropriate mitigation strategies are in place.
• Lead efforts in optimizing cost structures and improving operational efficiencies.

Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

• Provide the Executive Team and Board of Directors with regular updates on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare and present financial reports for investors and stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with the executive team to ensure alignment between financial goals and business strategy.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CFO, VP of Finance, or similar leadership role in high-growth companies.
• Demonstrated experience managing funds, including venture capital, private equity, or hedge fund experience.
• Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and capital management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
