Emko Capital is seeking a Fractional Controller to support one of our growing lower-middle market portfolio companies. This is a unique opportunity to work hands-on with a nimble, entrepreneurial team and help drive financial excellence in a private equity-backed environment.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a senior finance professional who can lead and professionalize the company’s core financial processes. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic settings, can quickly build trust with leadership, and is comfortable owning day-to-day finance functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process, including reconciliations and reporting

• Manage cash flow and treasury operations, including forecasting and disbursement approvals

• Lead financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and insight

• Interface with lenders and investors to provide timely updates and reporting packages

• Partner with the CEO and Emko team on strategic financial planning and KPI tracking

Structure

This is a fractional / part-time role, ideal for a seasoned Controller or CFO consultant who enjoys working with founder-led businesses and private equity partners.

The business is based in Los Angelas, CA. Remote flexibility is available with some travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 5 - 7 years of related experience
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• GAAP knowledge, CPA preferred
• Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
