About Us
We're building a research platform to help VC firms do better deal diligence for their early and growth-stage investments.
We're being incubated by a name-brand NYC-based VC, and are just getting started on our MVP.
About the Work
We want to hit the ground running by building a lightweight MVP so that we can get initial user traction. We're looking for a Fractional Senior Full-stack Engineer to own MVP development from end-to-end.
Specifically, you'll:
- Help us choose the right tech stack
- Own MVP development as our sole engineer. Features include:
- A membership & authentication flow with payments and credits built in
- Secure PDF delivery to our customers, with signed URLs for gated access (this is how we'll deliver our research reports for the MVP)
- Analytics so we can measure usage
- A basic frontend (e.g. auth flow, mobile responsive)
- Admin dashboard
- Work most closely with our CEO, and technical advisor from our VC firm incubator
Tech Stack (open to your feedback):
- React/Next frontend
- Node backend
- Auth/Membership via Memberful or Ghost
- Cloudflare R2 (for PDF delivery)
- Postgres
We expect MVP development to take ~3 months (assuming 25 hrs / week), and if things go well there's potential for ongoing contract work
About You
You MUST have:
- Played Senior, Staff, or Tech Lead type roles at other tech startups
- Deep experience with MVP development, and the tradeoffs associated with it
- Self-sufficient, can work as a sole engineer, and can interface easily with non-technical leaders
- If based outside the USA, can offer flexible overlap with EST time zone
Nice-to-haves:
- Have worked with secure file delivery featuresets
- Any AI integrations
- SOC2 work
- No-code tooling (Zapier, Make, Retool, etc.)
