We're growing into a sizable and engaged audience, with over 12,000 subscribers to our newsletter, 60K+ social media followers, and a track record of successful partnerships with major brands, including Adobe.
About the Work
We have valuable ad inventory and leads, but lack the time and expertise to build a steady ad sales pipeline. We're looking for a fractional Sales Lead who can set our ad sales strategy and execute it directly to drive new revenue.
Specifically, you'll:
- Assess our current ad sales process and recommend improvements
- Develop and own a targeted outreach strategy for potential advertisers
- Qualify and follow up on leads from our network, inbox, and events
- Manage the full sales cycle, from first contact to closing deals
- Advise on pricing and packaging of newsletter, podcast, and website inventory
- Build and refine our sales pitch and media kit as needed
We're expecting this role to require about 10 hrs / week of work, with a base retainer of $2.5K - $3K / month, and a commission structure that, if successful, would bring total compensation to $5K - $7K or more per month.
About You
You MUST have:
- Significant ad sales expertise, you can set up the strategy and do the execution work all on your own
- This is a hands-on role. If you prefer to play a more strategic/advisory role, we won't be the right fit for you
- Significant media industry experience - you've sold ads that reach an audience of media/PR professionals, or for media industry publications, etc.
- Newsletter and/or podcast ads experience
- Based anywhere in the world but offer time zone overlap with Eastern Time
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience managing affiliate programs
