About Us
We're a platform providing customizable internal apps for non-technical operators. Our platform's functionality is similar in extensibility/modularity to Retool, but with out-of-the-box apps purpose-built for Finance, HR, RevOps, and other business-enablement functions.
We've raised a pre-seed, have a small team, and are iterating quickly towards PMF.
About the Work
We have much of the core architecture built, and now need to make significant progress building out the use-case specific apps that sit on top of the platform. We're looking for a Fractional or Interim Principal Engineer (full-stack) to help us ship these apps.
Specifically, you'll:
- Work with other team members (another engineer, founder, designer, etc.) to quickly design the approach / technical design for new apps
- iterate quickly with us along the path and own the last-mile delivery (taking them to production-ready)
- Resolve technical bottlenecks in the platform layer that are exposed when trying to build new apps/functionality, including new platform capabilities or integrations when needed
- Build new platform capabilities or integrations as needed (e.g., bulk editing, new methods)
- Ramp up quickly and work with urgency to help us validate product-market fit within months

- Render
You'll join us for contract-based work at either half-time or full-time (figure a few months to start), and if there is mutual interest, you can convert into a full-time hire if you'd like (but not required).
About You
You MUST have:
- Played architect, tech lead, principal engineer, or CTO type roles at other early and growth stage tech startups
- Built complex internal tools or platforms, like highly configurable SaaS products
- Equally comfortable across frontend and backend (React/Node/Typescript)
- You've deeply integrated AI into your coding workflows (and find it fun to push the limits of using LLMs in clever ways without introducing “slop” into the codebase)
- You have availability for at least 20 or 40 hrs / week
- Based in the USA or Canada only
