About Us
We're a marketplace for buying and selling small businesses, connecting verified sellers with qualified buyers across the U.S.
We've recently raised a Series A ($15MM total funding), and have close to 30,000 buyers on the platform so far.
About the Work
Our Head of Engineering recently left, and we're taking this as an opportunity to reset how our engineering org should function. We're looking for a Fractional Head of Engineering to build the foundation for a faster, more AI-native engineering team.
Specifically, you'll:
- Be an active presence on the engineering team (we currently have 4 US-based engineers)
- Attend standups (10:30am ET)
- Review PRs
- Provide technical oversight / guidance
- Re-architect our stack, infrastructure, and our workflows to turn us into an AI-native engineering team
- We want to empower non-engineers to contribute to the building process without taking our site down
- And we want to empower our engineers to move significantly faster
- Act as a technical thought partner to our founders (who are both now shipping code)
- Get hands-on as needed to ship code yourself, particularly prototypes or other challenging experiments
- Either turn into our next full-time Head of Engineering, or help us vet the right person
About You
You MUST have:
- Been a hands-on Engineering leader, as a CTO, Head of, Tech Lead, etc. for other early-stage tech startups
- Transitioned an engineering org into one that is using the latest AI tooling as part of their core development workflow
- This should include setting up systems and guardrails that allow non-engineers to ship code
- A "ship fast" mindset - you should be comfortable making a decision quickly and implementing
- Based anywhere, but can operate with EST hours, and be available for daily 10:30am ET standup

- Built software for SMBs and service-based businesses
