About The Role
As Fractional Finance Manager, you'll lead all day-to-day financial functions while designing the backbone of scalable, tech-enabled financial operations. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on creating structure, mapping transactional data, and turning financial operations into a well-oiled machine. You’ll use technology to reduce friction, improve accuracy, and generate insight through clean, auditable data. Experience and a deep understanding of NETSUITE is a must.

Responsibilities
- Financial Operations & Transactional Workflows
- Own and continuously improve transactional processes: AP/AR, invoicing, expense management, vendor payments, and payroll coordination
- Build and refine end-to-end workflows to ensure timely, accurate processing of financial data
- Ensure data integrity and traceability across all transaction sources (e.g., bank feeds, billing tools, project management platforms)
- Maintain a clean and structured chart of accounts to support meaningful financial reporting
- Data Mapping, Reporting & Dashboards
- Map and categorize financial transactions in a way that aligns with business goals and reporting needs
- Design and implement real-time dashboards for financial performance, client margins, spend tracking, and budget vs. actuals
- Build data models to support forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic analysis
- Create reporting structures that are both leadership-friendly and audit-ready
- Technology & Automation
- Leverage tools like QuickBooks/Xero, Google Sheets/Excel, Looker Studio/Power BI to automate workflows and reporting
- Integrate finance systems with other platforms (e.g., time tracking, CRM, PM tools) to streamline data flow
- Continuously evaluate and implement tools that reduce manual work and improve process accuracy
- Own documentation of all tools and processes for transparency and handoff readiness
- Productivity, Accuracy & Audit Readiness
- Drive productivity by reducing financial admin work for the wider team through better tools and workflows
- Ensure high standards of data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all reports and systems
- Design processes and controls that support internal auditability and external compliance
- Establish SOPs and scalable finance infrastructure for future growth or due diligence events (e.g., funding, M&A)
- Collaboration & Strategic Finance
- Partner with department leads on budgeting, spend analysis, and performance optimization
- Support leadership with strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights
- Provide clear, digestible financial updates to stakeholders who aren’t finance-savvy
- Bring a process-first mindset to cross-functional collaboration (Ops, HR, Client Services)
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of finance experience, ideally in a high-growth or service-based business (agency experience is a plus)
- Strong experience owning transactional finance and building operational workflows from scratch
- Expert-level proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and solid experience with financial systems (QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
- Comfortable designing reports and dashboards (Power BI, Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar)
- Process-obsessed, tech-savvy, and able to spot inefficiencies and automate them away
- Detail-oriented with a high bar for accuracy and audit readiness
- Strong communicator — able to translate numbers into stories and action
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA/CMA a plus, but not required)
