Role Description
The Fractional Controller is a remote, contract role responsible for overseeing and improving the financial operations of Summit Nannies and Sitters on a part-time basis. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing general ledger accounting, reviewing and preparing financial statements, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring timely billing and collections. The role also involves creating and refining budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth. The Fractional Controller will assess and strengthen internal controls, oversee compliance with relevant regulations, and collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations. This role may coordinate with external accountants or bookkeepers, implement process improvements, and support system integrations or upgrades related to finance.

Qualifications
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Expertise in accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with cash flow management, billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
- Proficiency in accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Excel, or similar tools).
- Knowledge of internal controls, compliance, and best practices for small business financial operations.
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders and leadership.
- Demonstrated experience as a Controller, Fractional Controller, or senior accounting/finance role, preferably in service-based or small business environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or similar certification is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Alignment with the company’s mission of supporting families and caregivers, and comfort working with a childcare-focused organization.
