We’re looking for a highly capable bookkeeping and accounting professional to help modernize and streamline financial operations across a small group of operating businesses.
This role will start as a project-based engagement focused on migrating our current systems into QuickBooks Online, cleaning up workflows, and establishing clear, reliable reporting. The right candidate may continue on in an ongoing fractional controller capacity.
Business Overview
- Quick-service restaurant with delivery + POS integrations
- Bar/casino operating under a separate entity (shared POS environment)
- Multiple entities with intercompany activity
Initial Scope (Project Phase)
- Migrate existing bookkeeping systems into QuickBooks Online
- Clean up chart of accounts and standardize across entities
- Design and implement workflows for:
- Daily sales reconciliation (POS → books)
- Cash handling and deposit tracking
- Inter-company transactions (restaurant ↔ bar/casino)
- Tip handling (payroll vs cash components)
- Establish clean monthly close process
Ongoing Scope (if extended)
- Monthly financial review and oversight
- Light controller-level guidance
- Coordination with CPA
- Ongoing process refinement
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience with QuickBooks Online migrations and cleanup
- Experience with restaurants, hospitality, or multi-entity businesses
- Ability to design practical, operator-friendly systems
- Comfortable working with imperfect legacy processes and improving them
- Strong attention to detail, but also able to think structurally
Nice to Have
- Experience with POS integrations (SpeedLine, Toast, etc.)
- Experience with intercompany accounting
- Familiarity with tip pooling and payroll workflows
Engagement Details
- Project-based to start (estimated 4–8 weeks)
- Potential to transition into ongoing fractional role
- Remote is fine; Phoenix-based is a plus
