About Us
Good Health Psychiatric Services is a multi-state outpatient mental health practice providing psychiatric medication management, therapy, and advanced treatments including TMS and Spravato®. We are in a growth phase, expanding service lines and provider teams, and are seeking a hands-on Fractional Controller to professionalize our financial operations and support data-driven decision-making.
Role Overview
The Fractional Controller will serve as the internal financial lead, responsible for owning month-end close, overseeing payroll and benefits processes, ensuring financial accuracy, and delivering meaningful financial analysis to leadership. This role is hands-on initially, with a transition toward oversight, analysis, and strategic support as systems mature.
This is not a bookkeeping role. The ideal candidate can both do and analyze.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Close
- Own and manage the monthly close process
- Maintain accurate general ledger and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Ensure books are clean, consistent, and audit-ready
- Coordinate with external CPA as needed
Payroll, Benefits & HR Finance
- Oversee payroll processing in coordination with payroll provider
- Review payroll for accuracy (provider rates, bonuses, deductions)
- Oversee PTO accruals and tracking
- Manage and oversee 401(k) plan administration, including:
- census data
- employer match
- coordination with plan provider and CPA
- Support benefits-related financial reporting
Accounts Payable & Expense Oversight
- Review and approve bills and vendor payments
- Monitor operating expenses and flag anomalies
- Help implement controls and cost-management practices
- Initially assist with bill pay if needed, transitioning to oversight
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze and report on:
- revenue per provider
- revenue per visit
- payor mix
- no-show impact
- therapy vs medication management margins
- TMS vs Spravato profitability
- telehealth vs in-person margins
- Prepare budget vs actual reports
- Provide clear, actionable insights to leadership
Growth & Strategic Support
- Build and maintain financial projections and hiring models
- Support expansion of new service lines (e.g., neuropsychology, IOP)
- Assist leadership with:
- bonus pool modeling
- staffing decisions
- long-term growth planning
- Translate financial data into operational recommendations
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting / controller experience
- Strong experience with QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
- Experience overseeing payroll, PTO, and benefits
- Ability to independently manage month-end close
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Healthcare, behavioral health, or professional services experience preferred
- CPA or advanced accounting degree preferred but not required

- Part-time / fractional engagement (10–20 hours per week)

Pay: From $90.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 20.0 per week
