Position Overview
Anderson Lock & Safe is seeking an experienced Fractional Controller to provide strategic financial leadership and strengthen our accounting infrastructure during a period of rapid growth.
This role is ideal for a seasoned finance professional who enjoys partnering with ownership, improving processes, and building scalable financial systems, without needing to be in the weeds day-to-day.
You will oversee the accounting function, guide a capable internal team, and ensure financial clarity, accuracy, and discipline as the business expands.
The Fractional Controller will work closely with ownership and department leaders to deliver insight, structure, and confidence around the numbers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight of all accounting operations, including GL, A/R, A/P, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Lead and improve monthly and annual close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review financial statements, KPIs, and cash flow reporting for ownership
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation to support scale
- Oversee inventory costing, tracking, and reporting
- Support payroll oversight and compliance (processing handled internally)
- Evaluate accounting systems, workflows, and automation opportunities to increase efficiency
- Mentor and guide the internal accounting team (5 team members), providing structure and accountability without micromanagement
- Serve as a financial thought partner to ownership during growth initiatives, acquisitions, and market expansion
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience (Controller or similar level preferred)
- Strong experience with QuickBooks Online and Excel
- Proven ability to operate in small-to-mid-sized, owner-led businesses
- Experience scaling financial processes in growth environments
- ServiceTitan experience is a plus
