Garnet Gazelle is an innovative auction ecommerce startup specializing in a diverse range of consumer goods: Jewelry, diamonds, gemstones, designer purses, coins, and collectibles. Our mission is to deliver high-quality products at exceptional value, consistently priced below the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP). Currently, we operate on a white label platform, which has been instrumental in our initial online auction ventures; However, we are now facing limitations due to outdated features and constraints on scalability. To fully realize our potential, we are transitioning to develop our own IP-owned comprehensive 24/7 auction platform with a tech stack.

Role Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Fractional CTO to lead our transition to a new online auction platform. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in web development and e-commerce design, with a keen understanding of the latest technologies and trends. You will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the company CEO and development team in designing a scalable, modular, and user-friendly platform that supports our long-term growth objectives, as well as in our eventual onboarding of an in-house full stack developer.

Responsibilities

• Platform Development: Help to lead the architecture and creation of a new online auction platform, addressing current limitations and ensuring it is scalable, modular, and aligns with our brand identity.
• Technical Expertise: Leverage your experience in web development and e-commerce design to drive the technical aspects of platform development. Provide insights into the latest technologies and trends.
• Data Driven Insights: While our current platform has limited our capturing of data, the ideal candidate will help decision making based on what metrics we do have as well as leaning on their previous experience.
• Digital Marketing Guidance: Collaborate with our marketing team to optimize SEO, SEM, and content strategies for our new platform. Guide the integration of digital marketing tools to enhance our online presence.
• UX/UI Design: Oversee the development of visually appealing and user-friendly front-end designs. Emphasize mobile-first design principles and prepare for future mobile application development.
• Project Management Oversight: Ensure development team enables effective project management from discovery through to implementation.
