About The Job
Note: We are working with an amazing startup Complexiti and are recruiting for a hands-on fractional CTO role.
About Complexiti
Complexiti is building Noestra, an intelligent agent platform designed to revolutionize financial services operations. We empower financial institutions to automate, streamline, and resolve complex issues using cutting-edge AI and a scalable, secure tech stack.
We're a pre-seed stage company led by visionary thinkers, and we thrive on rapid iteration, close team collaboration, and delivering real impact. We believe in rolling up our sleeves, moving fast, and adjusting the direction as we learn.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Fractional CTO who is excited to help architect and build Noestra from the ground up. This is a critical, hands-on leadership role for a highly technical, collaborative, and execution-focused individual who loves building in fast-paced environments. As part of the founding team, you will define our technical vision, develop and iterate on our platform, and partner closely with the CAIO to integrate cutting-edge AI responsibly.
You will thrive in this role if you are equal parts visionary and doer, ready to code one day and design scalable architecture the next, and excited to test, break, and rebuild better.
Key Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy & Roadmap: Define and drive a clear, pragmatic technology roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Build and Execute: Architect, build, and iterate on scalable, secure, and compliant systems from MVP to production.
- AI Integration: Partner closely with the CAIO to explore and evaluate LLMs, agent frameworks, and AI governance best practices.
- Team Guidance & Mentorship: Mentor engineers, build a collaborative culture, and model roll-up-your-sleeves leadership.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Own relationships with vendors and tech partners; ensure integration and alignment.
- Security & Compliance: Lead secure-by-design development and oversee protocols to ensure privacy, data security, and financial compliance from day one.
- System Resilience & Monitoring: Design for high availability, observability, and fault tolerance to support mission-critical financial operations.
- Technical Governance & Standards: Define coding, documentation, and architecture standards to ensure long-term maintainability and cross-functional alignment.
- Quality Assurance & Risk: Embed quality from day one, identify risks early, and develop mitigation strategies that evolve with scale.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a CTO, senior engineering leader, or founder-level technical lead.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity, adapt quickly, and build in experimental environments.
- Strong systems thinking and full-stack technical capabilities.
- Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, modern architecture patterns, AI/ML integration, and secure software development.
- Experience designing systems in regulated environments with an emphasis on data governance, auditability, and real-time risk mitigation.
- Comfort working closely with non-technical stakeholders to translate tech decisions into business impact.
- Track record of building, shipping, and scaling early-stage tech products.
- Low-ego, collaborative mindset; able to both lead and support.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience; advanced degrees are a bonus, but demonstrated impact matters more.
Why Join Us
- Strategic Impact: Help shape the future of intelligent systems in financial services.
- Flexibility: Part-time and hybrid engagement tailored to your availability.
- Cutting-Edge Innovation: Stay at the forefront of LLMs, agent-based systems, and responsible AI.
- Mission-Driven Team: Work alongside a passionate founding team solving complex, and high impact problems.
- Dynamic Environment: Expect fast decisions, fast pivots, and fast learning.
