The Opportunity
Campground Views is entering a massive growth phase. We are seeking a Fractional CTO to act as the central nervous system of our technology operation.
This role is designed to scale. We are looking for a partner, not just a vendor. While this position begins as a fractional engagement (approx. 50% capacity) to establish the architecture and roadmap, it offers a direct path to a full-time executive role as revenue and technical complexity grow.
About the Role
We are an AI-first company. We need a technical leader who can translate a program vision into a product roadmap, manage a team of contractors, and, crucially, get their hands dirty in the code.
You must have deep programming expertise. You will not just be managing tickets; you will be selecting the stack, reviewing the PRs, and building the initial framework alongside the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Roadmap
- The Architect: Translate high-level business goals into a concrete technical product roadmap.
- The Stack: Select and manage the SaaS technology stack, specifically focusing on low-code/high-impact tools and customer platforms.
- The Scale-Up: define the technical milestones that will trigger the transition of this role from fractional to full-time.
- Hands-On Engineering & AI Implementation
- Code & Build: Actively participate in development. You must be comfortable building, debugging, and architecting alongside the team.
- AI-First Workflow: Implement and enforce an AI-first development culture. You will require the use of tools AI Dev tools to maximize velocity.
- Complex Integrations: Oversee API integrations and development involving routing, mapping, fintech, insurance, and roadside assistance data.
- Team & Vendor Management
- Source, vet, and hire technical contractors (developers, designers, QA).
- Manage the daily output of the technical team, ensuring code quality and adherence to timelines.
Qualifications
- Executive Experience: 10+ years of IT leadership experience, with proven success in a Fractional CIO/CTO or Lead Architect capacity.
- Programming Expertise: You must be a coder at heart. Proficiency in modern web development stacks is required. Expertise in Azure and .NET is a strong advantage.
- Regulated Industry Background: Experience in highly regulated industries (Healthcare, Education, GovTech, or Fintech) is essential to navigate our insurance and payment compliance requirements.
- AI Adopter: You don't just know about AI; you use it daily to code faster and manage better.
- Wildcard: We are open to candidates with less/ minimal experience that can and want to prove themselves.
The Growth Path
This is a high-impact role. As you successfully deploy the roadmap and the programs generate revenue, the scope of this role will expand. We are looking for someone who wants to build their own seat at the table. We are a nimble company and instead of hiring "all in" we work, test and develop team members on the fly. We want to not only see if you are right for us but if we are right for you.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $55,008.27 - $140,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Application Question(s):
- This is a hands-on role. Please describe a recent feature or tool you personally coded or built using a low-code platform
- Are you currently available for a fractional commitment with the ability to scale up hours as the project grows?
