About Us
We're building a research and transaction platform to help commercial real estate professionals better evaluate investment opportunities. Think a Bloomberg terminal meets a Perplexity interface, and specifically for commercial real estate pros.
Our founding team includes the former CIO of one of the top real estate firms in the country, an exited founder, an ex-Amazon leader, etc.
About the Work
Although our founding team has been working in proptech and software for years, we're lacking the technical and AI/ML leadership required to make our product exceptional. We're looking for a Fractional CTO that can play architect, leader, and ensure we make smart long-term decisions.
Specifically, you'll:
- Lead development for our MVP, you'll be initializing our repo
- Architect the core engine for ingesting, chunking, embedding, and querying structured/unstructured data from fragmented sources (PDFs, APIs, scraped content, etc.)
- Build RAG pipelines using vector DBs
- Bring in other engineers to work under you as needed
- Work closely with our outside design firm
- Act as a technical thought partner to the founding team, especially on AI/ML best practices and trends
Our expected stack will probably look like:
- Next.js /Typescript
- Vercel
- Supabase
- LangChain
- Python
About You
You MUST have:
- Been a CTO or equiv. at other early-stage tech startups
- Deep AI/ML expertise, particularly with LLMs
- Not just prompt engineering, but fine-tuning evals, data workflows, etc.
- RAG architecture, vector embeddings
- multi-modal document processing
- You're capable and excited about hands-on coding, especially during MVP development
- You've led engineering efforts in complex, data-heavy industries like:
- proptech
- fintech
- healthtech
- legaltech
- logistics
- Based in the USA or Canada only
Nice-to-haves:
- You have engineers you can bring onto the project with you as needed
- Based in NYC or LA areas
