About OneDosh
OneDosh is a global fintech building fast, transparent, and affordable cross-border payments between the U.S. and Africa—starting with the U.S.–Nigeria corridor. We combine regulated fiat infrastructure with modern stablecoin settlement rails to enable instant payouts, improved FX, and a materially better experience for diasporians and cross-border users.
Our product is live, licensing is secured via partners, and we are actively scaling on-/off-ramps, FX, KYC, card issuance, and payout networks. Compliance, risk management, and regulator trust are core to our strategy—not an afterthought.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Fractional Chief Risk & Compliance Officer (CRCO) to design, own, and operate OneDosh’s end-to-end risk and compliance function during a critical growth phase.
This role blends executive-level accountability with hands-on execution. You will establish regulator-grade programs, oversee AML/CFT and sanctions controls, manage partner and third-party risk, and serve as a trusted advisor to founders, partners, and (as needed) regulators.
This is an ideal role for a senior compliance leader who enjoys building from zero and understands cross-border and stablecoin risk.
Key Responsibilities
Risk & Compliance Leadership
- Serve as the primary risk and compliance authority for OneDosh.
- Own the company’s risk appetite, compliance posture, and escalation framework.
- Advise the CEO and Board on regulatory, operational, and reputational risk.
AML / CFT / Sanctions
- Design and maintain a risk-based AML/CFT program aligned with U.S. and Nigerian requirements.
- Oversee KYC/KYB standards, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and alert workflows.
- Own SAR/STR decisioning, escalation, and filing (directly or via partners).
- Ensure compliance with OFAC, FinCEN, and applicable local regulations.
Regulatory & Licensing Strategy
- Act as internal owner for U.S. MSB obligations and state-level considerations.
- Support Nigeria SEC / CBN alignment, including ISA 2025 implications.
- Advise on stablecoin-related regulatory guidance and risk posture.
- Support audits, exams, partner due diligence, and regulator inquiries.
- Prepare the company for future licensing or regulatory expansion.
Partner & Third-Party Risk
- Evaluate and approve banks, on-/off-ramps, card issuers, FX providers, and vendors.
- Design and operate a third-party risk management (TPRM) framework.
- Review contracts, SLAs, and compliance representations.
- Own contingency, redundancy, and offboarding plans for critical vendors.
Product & Operational Risk
- Embed compliance into product design (KYC flows, limits, controls, card usage).
- Review new features, corridors, incentives, and promotions prior to launch.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Growth, and CX to balance speed with safety.
- Define and run incident response playbooks for fraud, sanctions exposure, and outages.
Policies, Training & Governance
- Draft and maintain core policies: AML/CFT, sanctions, fraud, complaints, data protection.
- Establish internal training and compliance awareness programs.
- Define DRIs, dashboards, and reporting cadence for risk metrics.
What Success Looks Like (KPIs)
- Zero regulatory findings or enforcement actions
- SARs / STRs filed accurately and on time
- Alert false-positive rates trending downward
- Continuous audit readiness
- Early identification of partner or vendor risk
- No growth-blocking compliance surprises
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in risk, compliance, or financial crimes leadership
- Prior experience at fintech, payments, remittance, neobank, crypto, or stablecoin companies
- Deep hands-on knowledge of AML/CFT, sanctions, and transaction monitoring
- Experience with cross-border payments, FX, and emerging markets
- Strong understanding of stablecoin risk models and on-/off-ramp infrastructure
- Experience working with regulators, banks, and payment partners
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving, early-stage startup environments
- Pragmatic, commercially aware, and decisive
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Africa or Nigeria market experience strongly preferred
Engagement Details
- Fractional engagement with flexible hours based on company phase
- High autonomy and direct access to founders and Board
- Ability to scale involvement as the company grows
- Competitive fractional compensation (cash; equity optional)
Why This Role Matters
At OneDosh, compliance is the product. This role directly determines our ability to scale responsibly, maintain partner and regulator trust, and expand across corridors without existential risk.
You will help shape not just policies, but the long-term credibility and survivability of the company.
