About OK Today

OK Today is a youth-led global mental health and wellness coalition launched in 2025 at the AFS Youth Assembly. With a 14-member Youth Advisory Board, founding partners including Active Minds and AFS, and an ambitious goal to reach 1 million young adults in three years, OK Today drives peer-to-peer education, builds global partnerships, and develops digital tools to support youth mental health and wellbeing.

Role Summary

The Fractional Executive Director (ED) will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and partnership development for OK Today as the organization scales its reach. This role is designed for a senior leader with nonprofit or coalition management experience who can dedicate approximately 10 hours per week to advancing governance, fundraising, and program execution in collaboration with the Youth Advisory Board, founding partners, and Board of Directors.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Governance

• Partner with the Board of Directors to refine and execute OK Today’s 3-year growth strategy.
• Ensure strong governance practices, board operations, and decision-making processes.
• Empower and support the Youth Advisory Board, ensuring their voices guide programming.

Fundraising & Partnerships

• Lead efforts to cultivate and manage relationships with funders, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Oversee grant prospecting, proposal development, and donor stewardship.
• Build and expand partnerships that align with OK Today’s mission and amplify its impact.

Program Oversight & Operations

• Ensure effective implementation of programs and initiatives, including peer-to-peer education workshops and digital engagement platforms.
• Coordinate with partner organizations to deliver open-source tools, safeguards, and advocacy campaigns.
• Track and report on impact metrics to ensure accountability to stakeholders.

Communications & Advocacy

• Serve as a visible ambassador for OK Today with external audiences, including funders, partners, and media.
• Oversee development of key communications, impact reports, and speaking opportunities.
• Advance OK Today’s position as a thought leader in youth mental health and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit, philanthropy, or coalition-building (experience in youth, health, or mental wellbeing strongly preferred).
• Demonstrated track record in fundraising and partnership development.
• Strong governance and organizational management skills.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to inspire and convene diverse stakeholders.
• Commitment to youth-driven leadership and equity-centered practices.
• Ability to thrive in a fractional role, balancing strategy with hands-on execution.

Time & Compensation

• Approximately 10 hours per week.
• Compensation commensurate with experience; structured as a fractional contract position.
