The Company
We're building the registration and eligibility layer for youth sports. Our platform helps tournaments, clubs, and leagues easily manage their events, and keep them fair.
Stage & proof points:
- 10,000+ paying customers
- Fully bootstrapped, with intentions to raise institutional capital in the near future
The Work
We're starting to sell to larger youth sports organizations, and are faced with the security challenges that come with it. We're looking for a Fractional CISO to ensure our platform is secure and compliant, and help us navigate those enterpise conversations.
Specifically, you'll:
- Audit our platform and flag any critical gaps
- Make sure our privacy policy matches how we actually handle data
- Complete security questionnaires and assessments for prospective clients
- Keep us compliant with COPPA and state privacy laws for minors' data
- Set our data retention and deletion policy across all 50 states
- Stand up a penetration testing program and a patch and vulnerability management process
- Guide our in-house engineers as they implement your recommendations
About You
You MUST have:
- Owned Security as a CISO or similar for other early-stage startups, anywhere from stage zero through around Series B/C stage startups
- If your CISO work is exclusively at large organizations, we won't be the right fit
- Significant experience with US data privacy laws for sensitive PII
- You've created data retention and deletion policies
- You should have familiarity with COPPA specifically as well
- Significant experience owning security questionnaires, and experience with client-facing security conversations
- Based in the USA or Canada only
Nice-to-haves:
- Sportstech experience
- Healthtech, fintech, edtech, or similar experience where data privacy and compliance is critical
- A personal connection to competitive youth sports, as a parent or former player
- Recent experience owning security for AI products
