The Work
We're seeking to be at the leading edge of leveraging AI in our investment research process, and want an experienced technical professional to guide our security implementation strategy and ensure we are thoughtfully managing the risks. This person will assess the risks of each AI infrastructure and configuration decision, communicate what they mean for the firm, and recommend how best to mitigate them. We're looking for balanced, independent judgment that lets us move quickly while managing risk thoughtfully.
Specifically, you'll:
- Drive, maintain, and grow our AI security framework
- Vet AI tools before we enable them — MCP servers, sandbox connectors, and new AI features from existing vendors:
- Assess where inference runs, whether data is retained, and how model connections are secured
- Write up findings so we can decide whether to accept the risk
- Re-review tools as they ship changes
- Review new skills before they go out to the team
- Track emerging attack vectors and update the framework to cover them
- Support our Chief Compliance Officer on occasional regulator and LP questions about AI use
- Work directly with our AI strategy leadership and CTO
About You
You MUST have:
- Owned security at the CISO or similar level, ideally at smaller firms
- Recent, hands-on security work with agentic AI architecture
- MCP servers, connectors and extensions, egress allowlists, agent tool permissions, skill and package supply chain, and where inference actually runs
- Vendor security diligence experience for AI products
- Deep, self-driven engagement with the AI security landscape as it evolves
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with registered investment advisors or in a highly regulated industry (e.g. financial services, healthcare, biotech)
- Based in the NYC area
