About Us
We're a family-owned business distributing commercial laundry equipment across North America, serving laundromats, hotels, hospitals, gyms, and other businesses that require laundry solutions. Our core offering includes both equipment sales and a range of related services to support our customers’ operations.
About the Work
We're looking for a Fractional CIO to help us evaluate and evolve our technology strategy as we scale from a wholesaler to a direct sales and service organization. You'll not only assess our current ERP system (Epicor) but also take a holistic view of our enterprise architecture to ensure we have the right balance between ERP, integrations, and user-facing tools.
Specifically, you'll:
- Evaluate our ERP and surrounding tech stack to understand performance, usability, and integration issues
- Recommend and execute practical improvements for ERP performance, configuration, and usability where appropriate
- Assess whether ERP should remain the “system of record” while lighter-weight, user-friendly tools handle stakeholder workflows
- Evaluate opportunities for API connections and integrations to ensure the ERP stays clean while powering other systems (e.g., CRM, workflow tools, analytics platforms)
- Develop a data strategy, including spinning up a modern data warehouse and ensuring clean, governed data flows from ERP and other systems for analytics and reporting
- Identify and manage outside technical resources (integration partners, ERP consultants, data engineers) as needed
- To the extent your experience allows, provide strategic guidance on custom software development initiatives, ensuring they fit within a coherent, scalable technical architecture
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, translating business needs into technology decisions that reduce friction, improve user experience, and drive operational efficiency
About You
You MUST have:
- Senior IT leadership experience (CIO, Head of IT, or similar) in a mid-size+ company with complex business operations
- Significant ERP expertise - including auditing ERPs, custom integrations, major overhauls, etc.
- If owning ERPs has not been a core part of your background, we won't be the right fit
- Experience managing or implementing data warehouses and modern reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Extremely comfortable working with non-technical stakeholders
- You're capable and interested in being hands-on doing the work. This is not an advisory or managerial-only role
- You can be based anywhere, but should be open to traveling to NYC occasionally for occasional collaboration
Nice-to-haves:
- Epicor experience, specifically
- Exposure to manufacturing / distributor businesses
- Experience leading software engineering teams on custom development projects (e.g. SaaS software)
How to Get in Touch
Hit that "Request Intro" button below. Include any relevant links so we can get to know you better.
Your brief intro note should clearly address:
- The mid-size+ companies you've played CIO/Head of IT-type roles for
- Your ERP experiences, in detail, including any Epicor experience
- Your ability to be hands-on implementing ERP improvements, as well as bringing in specialists for implementation
- Any software engineering leadership work
If we think there's a fit, we'll reach out to schedule an intro call. Looking forward!
