Your Opportunity

We are looking for a highly experienced Fractional / Interim CFO to join us part-time, with the strong potential and mutual interest to evolve into a full-time executive role. Partnering directly with the executive team, you will act as the financial architect of our next growth phase, designing a scalable engine that supports long-term strategy and future strategic milestones.

This is a role for a leader who enjoys the intellectual challenge of building the machine, not just driving it. You will ensure our financial infrastructure is as robust, innovative, and scalable as our AI-driven software.

Your Responsibilities

• Strategic Fundraising & Corporate Development: Prepare SimScale for future financing events (Growth Equity, PE, M&A). You will ensure our data rooms, equity story, and reporting standards are "due diligence ready" at all times, maximizing our strategic optionality.
• Advanced Forecasting & Scenario Planning: Move beyond static budgeting. Build dynamic "what-if" scenarios (Base/Bull/Bear) that allow the Board to stress-test strategies live, balancing aggressive investment in product innovation (e.g., Physics AI) with capital efficiency.
• Enterprise Sales Finance Partner: Act as a strategic deal-architect for our sales organization (our primary engine). You will model the economics of complex Enterprise agreements, ensuring we optimize cash flow, Net Retention Rate (NRR), and long-term customer value.
• Architecting the Financial OS: Drive the transformation from legacy models to a robust, automated Financial Operating System. You will build the data infrastructure that provides the leadership team with real-time, actionable insights.
• Financial Stewardship & Trans-Atlantic Compliance: Oversee our international operations (DE/US), ensuring precise Cashflow and Balance Sheet forecasting while navigating the complexities of German/US GAAP and tax regulations.

Your Profile

• You Operate at Two Speeds: You are a strategic executive who can command the room with investors in the morning, and a hands-on architect who can dive deep into the revenue model in the afternoon. You know the numbers better than anyone because you understand how they are built.
• You have "Major League" Experience: You have successfully navigated the late-stage scaleup journey before. You bring hands-on working experience with fundraising and leading financial due diligence with top-tier VCs.
• You are a Builder, Not Just an Overseer: You don't just delegate; you possess deep analytical rigor. You enjoy architecting complex financial models from first principles to ensure they reflect the true logic of the business.
• You understand our Business Model: You possess a deep understanding of B2B SaaS metrics (Rule of 40, Magic Number, CAC Payback, etc.). You instinctively understand the financial friction between high-velocity inbound sales and complex enterprise cycles.
• You have Strategic Weight: Experience preparing organizations for public markets or strategic M&A is a strong plus, ensuring our financial rigor meets the highest international standards.
• You are a Compliance Expert: You have deep, practical experience bridging the gap between German GAAP requirements and US SaaS reporting standards.
