Orena Fragrances is looking for a Fractional CFO to build and lead our finance function. This role is responsible for developing the financial systems, planning processes, reporting, and operational discipline that support key business decisions across the company. Working closely with the Founder and department leaders, you’ll oversee budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, cost management, and capital allocation to ensure the business scales profitably and every investment is backed by sound financial decision-making.

From product costs, inventory, and company operating expenses to marketing investments, creator partnerships, and new product launches, you’ll help ensure every financial decision is measured, optimized, and contributes to long-term profitable growth.

What You’ll Own:
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Company-wide financial planning and forecasting
- Budget development and budget management across all departments
- Cash flow forecasting and financial planning
- Financial modeling for new initiatives, hiring decisions, product launches, and growth investments
- Capital allocation recommendations across the business
- Monthly P&L analysis and financial performance reporting
Profitability & Business Performance
- Company -wide profitability analysis and financial performance
- Product costing, COGS, gross margin, and contribution margin analysis
- Product-level profitability and SKU performance analysis
- Pricing strategy and promotional profitability
- Inventory cost analysis, purchasing recommendations, and inventory investment planning
- Fixed and variable expense analysis
- Department budget recommendations and resource allocation
- Financial post-mortems for product launches and major business initiatives
Marketing & Customer Acquisition Finance
- Financial analysis of Meta, Google, Email, SMS, Affiliate, Influencer, Organic Social, and other acquisition channels
- Customer acquisition cost (CAC), customer lifetime value (LTV), MER, contribution margin, payback period, and overall marketing efficiency
- Influencer, affiliate, and PR investment analysis
- Launch financial analysis, post-launch reporting, and ROI evaluations
- Budget recommendations across customer acquisition channels based on profitability and expected return
Executive Reporting & Leadership
- Weekly, monthly, and quarterly executive reporting
- KPI development and executive dashboards
- Weekly business performance meetings with department leaders to review financial performance, profitability, KPIs, and strategic recommendations
- Ongoing recommendations to improve efficiency, profitability, and capital allocation across the business

Requirements
- 5+ years of finance, FP&A, or strategic finance experience within an ecommerce or direct-to-consumer (DTC) business is required. Candidates without hands-on ecommerce finance experience will not be considered.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field (MBA or CPA is a plus, but not required)
- Demonstrated experience owning financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis for an e-commerce business
- Proven experience partnering directly with marketing teams to evaluate customer acquisition costs, marketing efficiency, and return on investment across paid and owned channels
- Deep understanding of e-commerce financial metrics including contribution margin, gross margin, net margin, CAC, LTV, MER, ROAS, payback period, AOV, and customer retention
- Experience analyzing performance across Meta, Google, Email, SMS, Affiliate, Influencer, and Organic marketing channels
- Experience analyzing product costs, inventory investments, gross margins, and overall business profitability
- Experience building executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and financial reporting for senior leadership

Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets with strong financial modeling skills
- Experience working with Shopify and e-commerce analytics platforms is required
- Experience with Triple Whale, Klaviyo, GA4, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Postscript, or similar e-commerce tools is highly preferred
- Experience with inventory planning, product profitability analysis, and pricing strategy
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into clear business recommendations
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable building systems and processes in a fast-growing company
- Experience working for a consumer products, beauty, skincare, fragrance, cosmetics, apparel, or other inventory-based DTC e-commerce brand is strongly preferred.
