Lucky Lab Coffee is a fast-growing coffee and bakery brand rooted in community, dogs, and high-quality products. With strong traction near the University of Texas and successful suburban drive-thru models, we are entering a phase of rapid expansion, with plans to open 3–4 additional locations over the next 18 months.
We are looking for a hands-on finance leader to help guide this growth.

Role Overview
This is not a traditional CFO role.
We are seeking a highly practical, operator-minded finance partner who can work directly with ownership to drive financial clarity, support expansion decisions, and build scalable systems.
This role will initially be part-time (15-20 hours/week) with the potential to grow into a full-time leadership position as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Growth
- Build and maintain a dynamic financial model to support multi-location expansion
- Evaluate new store opportunities (ROI, payback period, capital requirements)
- Develop and manage 12-month cash flow forecasts
- Support financing strategy (debt, capital planning)
Operational Finance
- Create and track unit-level economics (per location profitability)
- Establish weekly financial dashboards (labor %, COGS %, sales trends)
- Partner with operations to improve margins and efficiency
Systems & Infrastructure
- Oversee and improve accounting workflows (in partnership with external firm or internal team)
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Build scalable processes for AP/AR, payroll, and sales tax compliance
Ownership Support
- Act as a thought partner to the founder on key decisions
- Provide real-time financial insights—not just month-end reporting
- Help prioritize growth opportunities and capital allocation

What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)
- Clear, reliable financial model for expansion
- Weekly visibility into cash and performance
- Defined unit economics across all locations
- Reduced owner involvement in financial admin (including sales tax)
- Confident, data-backed decision-making for new and existing locations

Ideal Candidate
- 7+ years in finance, with experience in multi-unit retail, hospitality, or restaurants
- Experience supporting or leading business expansion
- Strong understanding of unit economics and cash flow management
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, founder-led environment
- Hands-on and willing to build systems from the ground up
- Experience working as a fractional or early-stage finance leader is a plus

Compensation
- Part-time / fractional structure (15–20 hours/week)
- Monthly retainer or hourly structure based on experience
- Opportunity to grow into a full-time leadership role in the future
