We’ve already achieved significant milestones on our path to earning FDA approval for the first lifespan extension drug for any species. We have three products in our pipeline and are on track for FDA conditional approval within the next year.

About the Role
We’re seeking a strategic and experienced Fractional Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to partner with our executive team in guiding the company’s financial strategy and operations. This individual will bring deep financial expertise, operational rigor, and strategic insight to support growth, improve financial performance, and prepare the organization for upcoming milestones (e.g., fundraising, scaling, or profitability). You’ll collaborate closely with leadership to ensure financial discipline, scenario planning, and decision-making are grounded in robust analysis. As a fractional leader, you’ll design and implement scalable financial processes without the overhead of a full-time role.
Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and executive team to define and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Advise on strategic initiatives such as fundraising, capital allocation, pricing strategy, and market expansion.
Investor Relations & Fundraising
- Provide thought partnership to the CEO around financial storytelling for the board and investors.
- Prepare financial materials for board meetings, investors, and fundraising efforts.
- Bring clarity to a complex financial model with multiple scenarios to provide an elegant picture of our finances to the board.
- Lead due diligence, scenario modeling, and strategic communication with investors and lenders.
- Partner with legal and external advisors to manage cap table, equity, and financing structures.
Financial Operations
- Advise on future roadmap of the Finance & Accounting functions including prioritization of when to hire which roles, opportunities to automate or streamline financial workflows, or suggestions around systems to support financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Support internal Finance team and outsourced Accounting firms on compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other relevant financial requirements.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in finance leadership, including experience as CFO or VP Finance.
- Extensive experience in Biotech or Deep Tech startups.
- Experience working with venture-backed or growth-stage startups.
- Proven success guiding fundraising, investor relations, and financial compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence executive and board-level stakeholders.
- First principles thinker willing to explore the unfamiliar and leverage expertise to make strategic decisions.
Compensation: $150 - $500 per hour, commensurate with experience.
