About The Role

We are looking for an experienced, driven and entrepreneurial Fractional Business Development Director to support our early sales efforts. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will help build the foundation of our sales engine — identifying prospects through your networks, generating meetings and leads, building pipeline and closing early customers. This is a fractional opportunity with flexible hours, ideal for someone who has the bandwidth to take on any additional part time role.

This is a heavily performance-incentivized role, with a monthly retainer and commission structure based on meetings booked and deals closed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-quality outbound engagement with legal industry prospects across channels (calls, email, LinkedIn), introducing Talli through insight-led conversations grounded in relevance and commercial value.
  • Work in close partnership with the CEO to co-design outreach strategies, shape go-to-market initiatives, and ensure a consistent pipeline of high-potential opportunities.
  • Qualify and develop both inbound and self-sourced leads with rigour and discretion, maintaining a disciplined approach to pipeline management and CRM hygiene.
  • Cultivate trusted relationships with senior decision-makers by understanding their operating context, regulatory pressures, and technology priorities — positioning Talli as a strategic solution, not just a product.
  • Translate performance data and market feedback into actionable insight that refines our sales motion and strengthens our positioning with target segments.
  • Stay sharp on Talli’s evolving product roadmap, the broader legal tech landscape, and the competitive signals shaping customer decisions.
  • Represent Talli externally, whether at events, conferences, or industry forums, as a credible and consultative voice in our market.

About You

We're looking for a commercially sharp, well-networked sales professional with a deep understanding of complex B2B sales — ideally within legal tech, insurtech, or adjacent regulated sectors. You’re someone who brings both credibility and curiosity into conversations with senior stakeholders and thrives on building long-term, trust-based relationships.

You’re not just a closer, you're a listener, a strategist, and a value translator. You know how to navigate nuanced buying cycles, particularly in organisations where compliance, risk, and procurement rigor are central to the decision-making process.

You’ll likely bring:

  • A strong network within legal market
  • Experience selling SaaS or data-driven solutions into enterprise or mid-market clients
  • A track record of outbound prospecting and consultative sales
  • Comfort working closely with founders or C-suite in early-stage or high-growth environments
  • The ability to operate autonomously while contributing strategically to the broader GTM plan
  • Based in the Eastern Time Zone (ET) — NYC-based candidates are a strong plus.
