Position Type: Fractional (part-time)
Time Commitment: ~8–15 hours/week on average, including internal alignment and external prospecting. Flexibility based on sales cycle phases.
Location: Hybrid. Greater Sacramento region preferred.
Role Overview
Nexture Bio seeks a highly experienced, fractional sales representative to accelerate our commercial growth across key industries. You will develop and execute strategic sales initiatives, identify new business opportunities, and build relationships with customers and partners in tissue engineering, cell therapy, and/or cosmetics & personal care markets. This is a flexible, part-time role.
Compensation
This is a fractional, performance-based role with a competitive monthly retainer and performance-based incentives. Equity and/or full-time transition potential for the right candidate based upon outcomes.
About Nexture Bio
Nexture Bio provides animal-component-free microcarriers, scaffolds, cell-attachment factors, and scientific services to support scalable adherent cell culture across the life sciences, food, and personal care industries. We are also expanding our technologies to new markets. Our solutions replace animal-based and synthetic ingredients with biodegradable, plant-based alternatives that are safe and suitable for use in food.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a sales strategy aligned with Nexture Bio’s business goals with clear customer archetypes and segments across industries, with clear metrics and a plan to coordinate with marketing and communications staff.
- Identify, qualify, and build relationships for new business opportunities in target markets, and follow through to closing the sale.
- Build and nurture relationships with decision-makers in tissue engineering, cell therapy, cosmetics & personal care, and other segments of interest (our possibilities are endless!).
- Collaborate with marketing and technical teams to tailor messaging and product positioning across customer segments and archetypes, company profiles, and role profiles.
- Provide customer insights to inform product development and market strategy.
- Negotiate and finalize service agreements, alongside product sales.
- Establish and report on sales KPIs and pipeline progress.
- Represent Nexture Bio and exemplify our brand at industry events and conferences as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven track record of closing complex B2B deals, particularly in life sciences, biotech, or personal care
- An existing network of relevant industry contacts is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success in high-level B2B sales and complex deal-making
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently in a fractional capacity
- Strategic thinker with a startup-ready mindset: you generate leads, manage the pipeline, and finish strong
