Fractional VP, Business Development & Strategic Partnerships
DCG Worldwide Enterprises LLC
Location: Remote, United States Only
Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099), Fractional
Compensation: $8,000–$10,000 per month, plus performance-based commission
Engagement: Initial 90-day contract, with potential for extension
About DCG Worldwide
DCG Worldwide is an independent experience design and strategy consultancy helping enterprise organizations simplify complex customer, employee, and digital experiences.
Our work spans service design, UX/CX strategy, AI integration, and enterprise modernization. We partner with organizations navigating complex technology environments, connecting business priorities with human-centered design to deliver measurable outcomes.
Our experience includes utilities, energy, healthcare, life sciences, and enterprise technology.
We're an established consultancy with enterprise delivery experience, a multidisciplinary team, and a growing portfolio of client engagements. We're looking for an experienced business development leader to help expand our enterprise relationships and create new opportunities for long-term growth.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a senior, well-connected business development professional who knows how to originate and develop enterprise consulting relationships.
This is a hands-on, fractional leadership role for someone with an established executive network, strong commercial instincts, and a demonstrated history of generating substantial professional services engagements.
We're not looking for someone to build a traditional sales organization, manage outbound campaigns, or generate high volumes of unqualified leads.
We want someone who understands how enterprise consulting engagements are developed, how executive relationships translate into opportunities, and how to navigate complex buying environments.
You'll work directly with the founder to identify potential clients, develop strategic partnerships, cultivate executive relationships, and convert qualified opportunities into meaningful consulting engagements.
This role is particularly well suited for an experienced consulting business development executive, former agency growth leader, or independent business development professional with an established enterprise network.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, originate, and develop new enterprise consulting opportunities aligned with DCG Worldwide's capabilities.
- Leverage existing executive relationships to secure qualified introductions and business development conversations.
- Establish relationships with senior leaders across Customer Experience, Digital, Technology, Operations, and Enterprise Transformation.
- Develop strategic partnerships with consulting firms, systems integrators, technology providers, and complementary service organizations.
- Position DCG Worldwide's experience design, service design, and AI consulting capabilities against specific business needs.
- Lead early-stage business development discussions, assess client needs, and qualify potential engagements.
- Collaborate with the founder on opportunity development, proposals, commercial strategy, and contract negotiations.
- Maintain a focused, transparent pipeline of prospective clients and partnership opportunities.
- Provide market intelligence and recommendations based on enterprise buying patterns, emerging priorities, and industry relationships.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise business development, strategic partnerships, consulting sales, or professional services.
- Demonstrated success personally originating and helping close six-figure consulting or professional services engagements.
- An established professional network that includes VP-level, SVP-level, or C-suite enterprise decision-makers.
- Experience developing business for consulting firms, design agencies, technology consultancies, or other specialized professional services organizations.
- Strong understanding of enterprise purchasing processes, procurement requirements, stakeholder alignment, and extended sales cycles.
- Ability to independently identify opportunities, initiate executive conversations, and advance relationships toward commercial engagements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Comfortable working directly with a founder in a small, senior-level consulting organization.
Preferred Experience
- Established relationships within utilities, energy, healthcare, life sciences, or enterprise technology.
- Experience selling service design, customer experience, employee experience, digital strategy, AI consulting, or enterprise technology advisory services.
- A history of developing strategic referral relationships with major technology platforms, system integrators, or consulting organizations.
- Familiarity with enterprise ecosystems involving SAP, Salesforce, Adobe, ServiceNow, or Microsoft.
- Prior experience in a fractional business development or revenue leadership capacity.
What Success Looks Like
We're focused on establishing a small number of high-value, long-term enterprise relationships rather than pursuing a high volume of transactional projects.
During the initial 90-day engagement, success will be evaluated through:
- Quality of executive introductions and new client relationships established.
- Development of qualified consulting opportunities with identified business needs and potential budgets.
- Progress toward proposals, commercial discussions, and new client engagements.
- Creation of strategic partnerships capable of generating ongoing referrals.
- Clear visibility into the opportunity pipeline and recommended next steps.
The right candidate will be comfortable being measured by the quality and commercial potential of the relationships they develop.
Compensation & Engagement Structure
This is a fractional, independent contractor opportunity structured around an initial 90-day engagement.
Compensation includes:
- Monthly retainer of $8,000–$10,000, depending on qualifications, availability, and relevant industry relationships.
- Additional performance-based commission on qualifying new client revenue, subject to an agreed compensation structure.
- Potential for an extended engagement based on performance and business needs.
This is not a full-time salaried position.
Location, Eligibility & Security Requirements
This is a US-based remote engagement. All work must be performed physically within the United States.
Candidates must:
- Perform all work exclusively from within the United States, including while working remotely.
- Successfully complete a background check before beginning the engagement.
- Comply with DCG Worldwide's confidentiality, data security, and information protection requirements.
- Use company-approved software, systems, and collaboration platforms.
- Be available for meetings and client interactions during US business hours.
Working internationally, including temporarily while traveling outside the United States, is not permitted.
Engagement is contingent upon successful completion of applicable screening and verification requirements.
