About Us
Bayesian Health is a world-class health AI platform that enables doctors and nurses to make better clinical decisions and save lives. Our work combines the latest AI advancements with the impact of direct patient care, and our research has been published in leading medical journals, like Nature Medicine.
We're a team of researchers, software engineers, product managers, and clinicians. We enjoy tackling difficult problems and are focused on results. Our culture is collaborative, dynamic, and transparent.
We're fortunate to be backed by some of the most discerning investors in tech and biotech: Andreessen Horowitz, the American Medical Association’s venture arm, Catalio Partners, and LifeForce Capital. We've also received some recognition along the way, including Forbes AI Top 50, World Economic Forum Tech Pioneer, Time Best Inventions, and BioTech AI Company of the Year. We're just getting started.
The Role: Senior Product Designer
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to join us on a fractional basis. This isn't just about Figma designs; it's about being curious about healthcare workflows and being excited about designing experiences that improve them.
We need someone who can simplify complexity and make design decisions with conviction based on product requirements. Doctors and nurses are used to dealing with excruciatingly tedious workflows within the electronic health record. Using Bayesian needs to feel like a breath of fresh air.
The role will initially start at 10 hours per week, with an opportunity to expand your role if there is mutual excitement.
You Will
- Own the end-to-end design process for new features, from wireframing to high-fidelity UI to interactive Figma prototypes.
- Collaborate with product managers and clinicians to translate complex healthcare workflows into intuitive and elegant user experiences.
- Develop and maintain design systems and UI component libraries in Figma to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and inform design iterations.
- Create engaging presentations and visual assets for various stakeholders, including investors and medical professionals.
- Design compelling printed marketing materials that showcase the impact of Bayesian Health's AI platform for hospital partners—like posters, t-shirts, and other swag.
Candidate Requirements
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong design intuition: You can see the elegant solution where others see a mess, and you can balance this with product requirements.
- Can simplify and remove unnecessary elements: Great design is often about what you leave out.
- Asks clarifying questions about product/workflow requirements: You probe to understand the core problem, and can zoom out during the design process when you notice ambiguous requirements.
- Can explain the “why” behind design decisions: you can articulate tradeoffs between designs and can explain why certain choices better fit a use-case.
- Sweats the details: You believe that the best design comes from many small decisions along the way.
- Appreciates good design: You know an elegant UI or intuitive UX when you see it, and you can list apps whose approach you respect.
- Effectively collaborates with clinical and product: You can bridge the gap between technical possibilities and real-world needs.
- Is responsive to feedback: You’re not afraid to iterate, because the goal is the best possible product, not your initial idea.
An exceptional candidate will:
- Go from Figma to vibe-coded demo: today, our demos are Figma prototypes. An exceptional candidate will up-level us to more interactive demos using their tool of choice.
