Location:
Remote (U.S. preferred) with occasional travel to customer, partner, and industry event locations.
Engagement Type:
Contract / Consulting (3–6 month engagement with potential extension)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced consultant to develop a comprehensive business plan and go-to-market strategy focused on racks, mounts, and supporting infrastructure for data centers and AI compute environments. The engagement will evaluate market opportunities driven by accelerated AI infrastructure growth, including hyperscale data centers, enterprise AI deployments, edge AI systems, and liquid-cooled GPU environments. The consultant will help define strategic positioning, market sizing, product roadmap priorities, channel strategy, and financial projections for a scalable infrastructure business serving the evolving AI ecosystem.
Scope of Work
Market & Industry Analysis
- Evaluate demand drivers for:
- Server racks
- Cabinet systems
- Mounting hardware
- Cable management
- Assess competitive landscape including OEMs, ODMs, integrators, and infrastructure vendors.
Business Plan Development
Develop a complete investor- and operator-ready business plan including:
- Executive summary
- Market opportunity analysis
- Customer segmentation
- Product and service strategy
- Pricing and margin models
- Manufacturing and sourcing strategy
- Channel and distribution strategy
- Partnership ecosystem recommendations
- Sales and marketing plan
- Financial model (3–5 year projections)
- Capital requirements and scaling roadmap
AI Ecosystem Strategy
- Identify strategic partnerships within:
- AI hardware ecosystem
- GPU manufacturers
- Cloud and colocation providers
- Integrators and VARs
- Recommend positioning for:
- AI-ready rack and mount systems
- High-density compute environments
- Evaluate opportunities for differentiation and IP creation.
Deliverables
- Full written business plan
- Market sizing and analysis
- Competitive landscape report
- Financial forecast model
- Investor presentation / pitch deck
- Strategic roadmap with phased milestones
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years in:
- Data center infrastructure
- AI infrastructure
- Enterprise hardware strategy
- Management consulting
- Technology market analysis
- Strong understanding of:
- Rack infrastructure
- GPU server environments
- Hyperscale architecture
- Experience creating:
- Business plans
- Go-to-market strategies
- Investor materials
- Financial models
- Familiarity with:
- NVIDIA ecosystem
- Colocation providers
- Enterprise procurement
- Manufacturing and supply chain strategy
Preferred Experience
- Prior work with:
- Data center OEMs
- AI infrastructure startups
- HPC environments
- Rack/cabinet manufacturers
- MBA or equivalent strategic consulting background preferred.
- Existing industry relationships are a plus.
