About the Company
We are currently looking for a part time Senior Accountant, based in NYC to oversee operational running of the finance function. This role requires an extremely organized, self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented candidate to focus on improving the performance of the finance department. The candidate should be a robust problem-solver with strong finance, analytical and communication skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The role requires expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations to maintain accurate and timely financial records.

About the Role:
Hybrid. On-site presence 2 days per week to partner with leadership and oversee critical accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Full responsibility for the General Ledger ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements for all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filing, and reporting
- Recording all transactions, in detail, into appropriate classified general ledger accounts
- Maintain 7-10 day monthly close cycle
- Analyze and reconcile all balance sheet accounts
- Produce all required monthly, quarterly and year end reporting at the divisional, company, and consolidated levels
Accounts Payable and Account Receivable:
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
- Record and maintain detailed history of A/R and A/P transactions by account and classification
- A/R and A/P reports to be prepared weekly for review with Manager
- Maintain vendor W-9 files and prepare 1099s at year end
- Provide detailed, organized, and timely responses in a professional manner to all vendors, customers, and business partners
Inventory Management:
- Maintain ERP, Warehouse, and Shopify inventory monthly, including work in progress and reconcile to general ledger balances
- Manage the ERP system and ensure the accounting, costing, and all invoicing, billing is accurate and current
- Produce monthly reporting for all inventory for review by management
Banking and Cash Flow:
- Perform bank account and credit card reconciliations weekly
- Maintain perpetual bank balance for reporting to management
System Experience:
- QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks
- Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills required
- Experience with ERP system a strong plus
- Shopify

Qualifications
- Minimum of 7-10 years experience in finance with proved track record
- College degree, or equivalent professional work experience required
- Advanced analytical, business development, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and solution based
- Agility and ability to react quickly with strong sense of urgency
- Robust analytical skills
- Excellent communication: Confident, engaging verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
- Versed in the use of ERP systems, and Quick Books
- Strong project management and multi-tasking skills with critical attention to detail

Pay range and compensation package
Market-competitive; structured hourly or as a monthly retainer based on experience and scope.
