Build the product by helping the first customers succeed.
SureHost is an early-stage hospitality technology company building new ways for short-term rental operators to run and grow their businesses.
Our technical and AI team is based in Pune, India. Our customer and product team is in Des Moines, Iowa. We are working with our first paid customer pilot now and preparing for broader U.S. expansion in 2027.
We are looking for a Founding Product Manager who wants to be close to the work.
This is not a roadmap-only PM role.
At this stage, customer execution and product management are still the same job. You will work directly with our first customers, see where the product holds and where it breaks, keep the work moving across the team, and turn what we learn into clear product priorities.
You will not wait for a finished playbook.
You will help create it.
What you’ll build
In the first phase, the job is to make our early customer pilots work in the real world.
That means working directly with customers through onboarding and delivery, following through on what they need, identifying gaps, and keeping technical and operating work moving.
You will:
- Own the day-to-day execution and success of early paid customer pilots
- Work directly with customers to understand how they operate and what they need
- Keep customer, founder, product, AI, and engineering work moving around the same priorities
- Turn customer workflows, problems, and pilot learnings into product requirements
- Decide what matters now, what can wait, and what does not need to become product
- Identify gaps and make pragmatic tradeoffs when there is no obvious answer
- Build the first product and operating rhythms that can carry forward as we add customers
- Take increasing ownership of roadmap, prioritization, requirements, and delivery as the company grows
The work will change as SureHost changes.
That is part of the role.
Who will thrive here
We are looking for someone who has done meaningful 0→1 product work and wants to do it again from close range.
Strong candidates will likely have experience taking an early product from customer pilots toward something more repeatable. They can move between a customer conversation and a technical discussion without losing the thread. They make good decisions with incomplete information and take responsibility for what happens after the meeting.
This person is hands-on.
When something needs to get figured out, coordinated, written down, tested with a customer, clarified for engineering, or simply finished, the boundaries of the job do not become the obstacle.
Experience working closely with engineering and AI teams matters. So does strong product judgment, customer communication, and the ability to create structure without creating bureaucracy.
Iowa-based candidates are strongly preferred.
What you’re joining
You will work directly with SureHost's CEO, Chief Product and Design Officer, CTO, and Chief AI Leader—and directly with the founding customers helping shape what we build.
Our customers are entrepreneurial operators building real businesses in the short-term rental management space. Their problems do not arrive as clean product requirements. Part of this job is getting close enough to the work to know what matters.
The company is being built across Des Moines and Pune. There are very few layers between a customer problem and the people deciding what gets built.
Our team works hands-on with emerging technology, including AI-driven video review and workflow agents. More important, we are focused on turning that technology into tools that solve real customer problems.
People at SureHost are expected to use the full range of their skills.
This is a place to build.
How the role evolves
The role begins as a part-time 1099 engagement of approximately 10–20 hours per week, with a heavy focus on customer pilots, learning, and execution.
Over the following 3–6 months, our intention is for the scope to grow as SureHost adds customers and the product develops. That means increasing ownership of product direction, prioritization, requirements, and delivery, with the potential to transition into a full-time contractor or employee role.
Build with us
If a finished playbook is important, this probably is not the role.
If building the playbook, the product, and the company at the same time sounds like the right kind of work, we would like to meet you.
