About Us
We're a technology consulting firm specializing in data, cloud, and cybersecurity solutions for federal, state, and local government agencies. We work alongside public sector leaders to deliver IT program management, cloud modernization, data analytics, and compliance services.
We've got 30 employees today, and are growing quickly. We're on track to do several million in revenue this year.
About the Work
Given our projected growth, we want to get our back-office systems, processes, and compliance in order before we scale further. We're looking for a Fractional Operations Director to build a solid foundation so we can grow smoothly.
Specifically, you'll:
- Audit our current client delivery structure and establish best practices for project management across all active engagements
- Improve our existing software tooling. It consists of: Monday.com, Quickbooks, Rippling, SharePoint
- Review and close any compliance gaps related to FAR requirements across our government contracts
- Audit our insurance coverage for any gaps or redundancies
- Assess and improve our hiring process, from job postings through onboarding, with a focus on building repeatable SOPs
- Advise on HR best practices, including employee handbook development and general HR guidance as issues arise
- If skillset allows, help us build financial forecasts and pricing models
- Work directly with the founder and one junior Operations generalist who will support execution
About You
You MUST have:
- Led Operations for other professional services firms, consulting firms, or similar
- Built the Operations function from scratch for other small businesses, including:
- the back-office systems and processes
- Client-facing delivery best practices
- Direct government contracting experience, including associated compliance requirements
- If you've not worked in govcon before, we won't be the right fit for you
- Experience flexing into HR Ops, and advise on HR best practices (e.g. employee handbooks)
Some nice-to-haves:
- Finance experience, building financial models, forecasts, pricing models, budgets, etc.
