We’re looking for a next-level data engineer — the kind of person who is extremely insightful that even we walk away learning something new. If you’re a seasoned data engineer with a gift for writing and a deep passion for teaching, storytelling, and thought leadership, this role is for you.

Data Engineer Academy is hiring a Fractional LinkedIn Ghostwriter to help shape our online presence by crafting engaging, high-value LinkedIn content that educates and inspires other data engineers, aspiring professionals, and tech enthusiasts.

What You'll Do

• Write LinkedIn posts (7-14 per week) under our founder’s name that share deep insights, technical tips, frameworks, and personal stories from the world of data engineering
• Translate complex concepts (think: distributed systems, pipeline optimization, DAG architecture, big data frameworks, etc.) into clear, concise, and scroll-stopping content
• Make technical content human — mixing wit, relatability, and depth
• Work closely with our team to align on brand voice, tone, and content goals
• Stay ahead of industry trends, challenges, and conversations within the data engineering space

You're a Great Fit If

• You have 7+ years of real-world experience as a data engineer
• You write so well that technical readers stop scrolling, take notes, and hit “Follow”
• You’ve read through Reddit threads, GitHub issues, and docs for fun
• You understand the pain points and real-world challenges data engineers face today
• You can explain the difference between a Lakehouse and a traditional Data Warehouse without sounding like a textbook
• You’ve seen (or built) robust pipelines, dealt with scale, and understand tools like Airflow, Spark, dbt, Snowflake, Redshift, Kafka, and more
• You love sharing value and making complex ideas accessible

• You’ve written long-form content (e.g. blog posts, newsletters, or thought leadership pieces)
• You’ve grown a LinkedIn or Twitter audience before
• You know how to subtly build authority while driving engagement
