About Us

We are a law firm focused on criminal defense, divorce, and immigration in the NY Tri-State area. We have offices in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island.

We've grown to 35 employees over the last ten years, and have ambitious growth goals in the future, including a new office in New Jersey.

About the Work

We've gotten by without any dedicated HR expertise to date, relying on our small Ops team, but our growth plans make this unsustainable. We're now looking for a Fractional HR Director to establish our HR practice, improve our recruiting process, and own all things People.

Specifically, you'll:

  • Develop a recruitment strategy to significantly increase our ability to attract great attorneys and paralegals
  • Own the recruitment funnel from start to finish
  • Oversee and guide employee relations, including:
    • conflict resolution between team members
    • performance issues
  • Set up and manage systems for tracking sick days, vacation, etc.
  • Advise on compensation, benefits, and retention strategies
  • Direct our two Ops teammates on execution-related HR tasks

About You

You MUST have:

  • Managed HR functions at other law firms, ideally small or mid-sized ones
  • Direct, hands-on experience recruiting attorneys and paralegals in high growth environments
  • An HR generalist skillset across recruiting, employee benefits, conflict resolution, compensation, etc.
  • Based in the USA

Nice to have:

  • You're local to the NY Tri-state area
