About Us

We're a boutique Wall Street firm that provides research, data, and services to institutional investors that trade international markets. We're in the process of a major digital transformation, building a platform that will become the one-stop shop for local research and custody across 100+ international markets.

We have 40 employees, with 15 in our NYC office, and the rest spread around the world.

About the Work

Our org has never had a true People leader, and it feels more critical than ever as we transition from a traditional financial services org into a fintech company. We're looking for a Fractional Head of People to properly create this function for us, and own the initiatives that often go overlooked when there's no People leader.

Specifically, you'll:

  • Build and automate key HR workflows, including new hire onboarding and offboarding
  • Design and run a summer internship program (we're thinking 2 - 5 interns)
  • Establish a career progression framework that gives employees a clear path forward
  • Improve our company communication process, including:
    • Monthly update emails
    • Quarterly all-hands
  • Handle employee relations issues as they arise, including performance coaching conversations
  • Audit and improve the company's benefits structure, including health plans and 401k
  • Help define and embed company values and support culture-building initiatives
  • Help us recruit a few engineering hires we have planned for this year

About You

You MUST have:

  • Led the People team as a Head of, Director, VP, or similar for other tech companies
  • Managed organizations through major cultural transformations. Examples include:
    • Legacy player --> modern technology transformation
    • Post-acquisition cultural integration
    • Major business model pivot with company-wide implications
  • A strong People Ops skillset, with plenty of experience designing and automating HR workflows
  • Significant experience creating and driving culture initiatives, particularly in a hybrid environment with global remote employees
  • Experience owning all the following:
    • Internship programs
    • Benefits admin
    • Career progression frameworks
    • Performance coaching
  • Overseen hiring for software engineers
  • Based anywhere in the USA / Canada only, and are comfortable traveling to NYC occasionally

Some nice-to-haves:

  • Based in the NYC tri-state area
  • Have worked in traditional financial services before
