About Us
We're building software to solve key pain points in the debt industry, starting with tools for mortgage origination and non-performing loan transactions. Our platform will help automate data ingestion, streamline pre-underwriting, and match buyers and sellers of debt assets.
We've raised a pre-seed, are about to start building our MVP, and have secured design partners with several experienced players in the space.
About the Work
We're looking for a Fractional Forward-Deployed Engineer who can work directly with our design partners to shape product requirements while owning the technical foundation of our platform.
Specifically, you'll:
- Sit between our business-focused leadership, our design partners (lenders/servicers), and our contract engineering team
- Interface directly with design partners to understand technical requirements like how the APIs will connect, how data will be extracted, etc.
- Validate and sequence our product roadmap from a technical standpoint
- Create the right architecture for our MVP platform, including tech stack choice and the necessary data processing infrastructure
- Translate requirements for an outside engineering team to build
- Provide code review and guidance as needed to the engineering team
- Help hire and evaluate additional engineers as the team grows
About You
You MUST have:
- Been a Senior, Staff, Tech Lead, or equivalent for other early-stage startups, where you've built from the ground up
- Built performant full-stack web apps from inception/early-stage, while managing multiple engineers
- Deep expertise in high-volume data ingestion and processing, including pipelines that pull from multiple sources and handle both structured and unstructured data
- Experience working directly with external stakeholders or customers in a client-facing technical capacity
- A strong product sense, and can help translate requirements from our design partners into specs for the engineering team
- Based in the USA or Canada only
Some nice-to-haves:
- Built recommender systems that filter and rank large datasets
- Exposure to fintech or other similar industries that have high security standards and compliance needs
- Experience as a hiring manager, evaluating and bringing on engineering talent (full-time or contract)
- Experience presenting at industry events or to external technical audiences
