JOB SUMMARY
Work closely with the Commercial team to implement Genezen’s overall business development strategy. That includes identifying and engaging new prospective CDMO clients, coordinating client visits and proposals, negotiating agreements, maintaining a relationship with current clients, and achieving sales objectives. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the gene and cell therapy market space, manufacturing technology, and the drug development regulatory environment, as well as a demonstrated ability to influence positive outcomes without direct reporting authority.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Implement the overarching business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and customer experience
- Identify and engage with new prospective clients using sources such as databases, publications, market analysis, trade shows, and contacts
- Generate new leads, contact decision-makers, and screen and qualify potential new business opportunities
- Lead and progress potential customers through the sales process (technical calls, RFP, quotes, visits, etc.)
- Lead customer meetings/business due diligence evaluations
- Own proposal generation for assigned accounts, including detailed RFP responses and proposal development, including inputs from scientific and operations teams
- Negotiate sale agreements and achieve sales objectives
- Document pipeline effectively in CRM, maintain prospect databases, and provide forecasting data
- Prepare sales activity reports
- Contribute to the implementation of marketing initiatives, including providing market information, distributing materials, and attending trade shows
- Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers as well as internal capabilities and technologies
- Meet regularly with management and stakeholders to discuss updates and potential impact to strategy
- Demonstrate exemplary skills in leadership, communication, and account/relationship management while maintaining extremely high quality and efficiency standards

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES
BS in Biology, Biochemistry, or ChemistryEssentialAdvanced Degree in the life sciences and/or business desired
ON-THE-JOB EXPERIENCE
8+ years of sales/technical experience or client relationship experience, ideally in a bio-manufacturing or CDMO environment
Essential:
Experience with CRM Software
Biologics experience specifically with gene and cell therapies
Desired Experience
Within a regulated environment and ability to interact effectively with process development and quality assurance/quality control professionals
Experience with negotiating long-term commercial contracts; strong negotiation skills
Desired SKILLS / ABILITIES
Strong influencing skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and projects across functions
