About Salt Cinema
Salt Cinema is a strategic media and education company seeking a Fractional Creative Director. We help real estate professionals build trusted brands through story-driven content and elevated production.
Our brand is built on clarity, precision, and taste — clean visuals, intentional storytelling, and a refined, minimal aesthetic. Our work sits at the intersection of real estate, design, lifestyle, and personal branding.
We are scaling quickly and are now hiring a Fractional Creative Director to partner directly with the Founder and Marketing Lead.
This is a role for a creative weapon — someone with a trained eye, proven leadership, and mastery of both concept and craft.
Before You Apply
Study our brand before you apply.
If you don’t immediately see how to elevate the creative vision — not just visually, but narratively, strategically, and systemically — this role won’t be a fit.
We’re hiring someone who can take Salt Cinema further than where it is today.
The Mission
Build and protect Salt Cinema’s creative standard.
Translate the founder’s vision into systems, standards, and direction.
Lead and elevate the creative team so every deliverable feels unmistakably Salt.
Your job is to ensure taste, consistency, and excellence across every piece of creative output.
What You Will Lead
Creative Direction
- Define and maintain the Salt creative standard: tone, visual style, typography, color, pacing, and narrative.
- Develop creative concepts, campaign themes, and storytelling frameworks.
- Elevate and refine content across all platforms (YouTube, IG, TikTok, Reels, paid content).
Team Leadership
- Direct and manage editors, designers, and creative operators.
- Build a durable creative team: hire, train, and evaluate talent.
- Run weekly creative reviews with clear, actionable feedback.
- Be the “taste filter” between vision and execution.
Systems & Standards
- Build creative SOPs, templates, and guidelines that scale.
- Implement QA processes that ensure consistency and speed.
- Create briefs that combine clarity, emotion, and brand strategy.
- Establish a predictable, repeatable creative pipeline.
Hands-On Craft (Non-Negotiable)
You’re not just a thinker.
You can do.
- Edit short-form and long-form video when necessary.
- Shoot content when needed (filming experience required).
- Build polished carousels, thumbnails, and layouts in Canva or Adobe.
- Write or refine scripts with clarity, narrative instinct, and taste.
This role is “player-coach” — you can get in the trenches, prove what “good” looks like, and then teach the team to replicate it.
You Are a Fit If You Are
- A true taste leader — minimal, modern, elevated aesthetic sensibility.
- Someone who has run creative in an agency, media company, production studio, or premium personal brand.
- A director-level creative with a strong POV — you can articulate why something works.
- Hands-on proficient in editing, design, storytelling, and content production.
- A mentor and a manager — you bring out the best in creative talent.
- Comfortable giving direct, honest, constructive feedback.
- Fast-moving, structured, and calm under pressure.
- Obsessed with quality, nuance, and brand alignment.
- Someone who can take the founder’s intent and operationalize it into systems.
If you don’t have an elevated portfolio, leadership experience, and hands-on craft, this role is not a match.
Requirements
- 5–10+ years directing creative or leading content teams
- Strong portfolio demonstrating refined taste + editorial judgment
- Experience managing editors, designers, and creative teams
- Proficiency in video editing (Premiere, Final Cut, or similar)
- Strong design sense — color, typography, spacing, layout
- Ability to shoot solo and direct on set
- Excellent copy and scripting instincts
- Deep platform fluency (IG, TikTok, YouTube)
- Experience in real estate, luxury, lifestyle, or storytelling-driven brands is a plus
Compensation
- 10–20 hours/week
- $3,000–$7,000/month depending on experience and scope
- Contract, remote, U.S.-based
- Opportunity to expand scope as Salt scales
What Success Looks Like (90 Days)
- A complete Salt Cinema creative system (style guide, templates, SOPs).
- Editors and operators producing consistent, elevated work without rework.
- You reduce Founder creative involvement by 80–90%.
- Monthly content quality increases across all channels.
- You become the internal standard for taste and creative leadership.
