Role Overview

If you are a hands-on fractional CTO, and a visionary who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment, keep reading. We’re looking for a Fractional CTO to lead and execute the tech strategy of our company. We are open to candidates worldwide with flexibility to collaborate across US & European timezones. Our expected start date is February 2025.

Responsibilities

• Define & execute our AI-first technology roadmap, ensuring scalability and efficiency
• Architect and optimize cloud-based infrastructure for AI-driven automation
• Lead and mentor a distributed engineering team, instilling best practices and execution discipline
• Own technical integrations with customers—from onboarding to deployment, ensuring smooth execution
• Implement scalable data pipelines, API frameworks, and AI model deployment strategies
• Drive security, compliance, and performance optimizations in a high-scale environment
• Work closely with founders and product teams to align technology with business objectives

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, ideally in AI, SaaS, or data-heavy platforms
• Deep experience architecting scalable AI/ML systems and leading high-performing tech teams
• Hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), microservices, and API design
• Proven ability to run customer integrations end-to-end, balancing speed and robustness
• Strong execution focus—someone who can define strategy and get their hands dirty
• Experience navigating compliance-heavy industries (healthcare/fintech a plus)
• Entrepreneurial mindset – ability to adapt, problem-solve, and thrive in fast-paced startup dynamics

Bonus Experience (Nice to Have)

• GCP, BigQuery, or Vertex AI expertise
• Healthcare AI experience (claims data, EDI, compliance, etc.)
• Experience building AI-powered automation for B2B SaaS
